Last night's 90 min workout: The game says 161 calories my HRM says 715. Big difference! I think I need to check my weight setting in the game?

I'll have to check the difference between my HRM and the games calorie burn.

PJLITTLEFR63- oooh, where do I set up for my weight? I browsed around the various options in the game but never stumbled across that one.

-- never mind! I found it at last. I was getting frustrated because I could find where I switch from metric to imperial but couldn't find where I actually put my stuff in! Got it all sorted out and now the calorie burn is looking a *lot* more reasonable! (otherwise 60 minutes of what is for me intense cardio was coming out at 1/2 the calories burned of a brisk 10 minute walk!)

Alrighty, feeling a lot better about this now. Thank you.

I love this game and Iuse it almost exclusively for my workouts. I also have a heart rat monitor that my husband bought me for my birthday. I agree this game is hit or miss as far as calories burned goes. Have you all set up you weight in the game profile cause that makes a big difference. Otherwise I believe it assumes a 150 lb person for calorie count. But if you at 200 like me that calorie burn is going to be way off. I've done some samplings of the games and mine is off but not that far off. Maybe for an hour work out I might burn 220 calories on the Game to 275 with my hrm.

I use an HRM when working out. The calorie counts in the game seem way to low.

I tried two of the warm ups, some cardio work-outs, the block punching thing, and the "bollywood" dance routine.

Elengil, what particular activity were you doing? The calorie burn is going to be different depending on what you're doing.

I'd suggest a HRM... much more accurate than most estimates.

Just got my copy in the mail today and tried it out. Love it so far! Lots to pick from (though the 'punch your calories' thing is rather annoying).

Question if anyone knows, how should I log this activity? If I log it as aerobic in the tracker it gives me something like 200+ calories burned for 30 minutes, but the thing says 37. I mean, I know there's a fair amount of estimation involved but that seems like a rather *large* gap to try to guess my way through?

I did a mixture of workouts last night. Just getting a feel for the game has to offer but I was still sweating when I got done and out of breath.

oh I know the calorie count is way off, in yoga I burn more calories than the boot camp, pretty sure that can't be right!
There are so many workouts- wow. And I love that you can use weights in some of them too. Today I did one of the cardio section and it was 24 min- glad to see longer ones, but it kicked my butt. I was sweating and couldn't catch my breath. I finished barely and did a yoga to calm down and was done. Alot of reps of high intensity stuff- wow.

My HRM said I had burned 266 calories and the game said 66. 200 calorie difference for me. I always use the count from my HRM when logging here and on the Fitbit site. I don't know if you can change the calorie count manually on the YSFE2012 site.

I picked up Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 yesterday at Gamestop. I had like $20 dollars in store credit and used that so the game was cheaper. I set it up and played around with it for 30 mins last night. I loved it. I did think the calorie count was way too low on it but that's not an issue for me as I use a HRM (with chest strap) for calorie burn, etc. I've got it setup for workouts 3 days a week (I do 5 days a week at lunch in the gym at work). Can't wait to officially start the workouts.

I just did the demo and I'm getting it this weekend. I have store credit at Gamestop which will help with the cost.

How, exactly, can you get it for free?? I'd love to know. I've had my eye on this game and it's on my wish list; however, free would be great.

I just got the game as well, but not for free. It's worth the money though. I had so much fun playing with it last night and my muscles are good and sore today. I was happy they let me do knee push ups too =)

I almost gave up on actually gettiing. but it finally came in the mail. Had to test it out and my daughter and I got a kick out of actually seeing our selves on the screen!
But this morning - I did a couple bootcamps and was pleased it allowed me to do the pushups on my knees!!! Wow! then did a couple boxing and a bollywood, and then a yoga to cool down. what a great varity there is!! The calorie is definetly way off, like everyone says

definetly going to use this one alot! Kind of wish I could move my calories from the old game though- I had over 4000 and I only got it for Christmas!
