LOL, that's one of the first questions I asked them last night. The first question was about improvements over the last game: menu system, tracking, and learning curve. The good news is, everything has been improved. The game was practically rebuilt from the ground up.
I then told them how our group likes to play online with each other. They said it was discussed, but they had to make the call to cut the online ability to allow the developers time to make the game itself better. I would have to agree, the game is a lot better and rock solid. I can see myself playing this a lot more than the previous title. They also talked about their commitment to this title and have not ruled out future versions being online playable.
One of the driving factors of their decision is utilizing developer's time. The amount of work involved to include mulitplayer is huge. Instead, they spent the time tweaking the tracking mechanics.
Still, I put the question out to them again and hope to get a formal statement I can include in my review.
