K so I just began using my son's Xbox for my work outs. I mostly use Your shape evolved but I would like to add on. My question is about friends, parties and chat. So I got how to request and accept a freind. What I want to know is how do I ivite some one to a play a particular game and once I do does any one know what that allows us to do say in YSE2012. Can we for instance do like 2 player wall breaker or something of that nature or can we do a fitness or dance class?

Pam

It's the same, but if that person backs out of the game, the request will disappear. Sometimes the request just gets lost when the game starts up. Chat options are the same as party options, except a party can have the maximum of 8 players at once. :D

HUTCHISDM.
Is it the same with a game request? I tried twice to accept one but I couldn't find the request.
Thanks
Kim

When you get a chat invite - just hit the xbox button on your controller, under your friends tab there should be your chat invite message, just open, hit accept, it will ink up, and you can press back to go back to your game and keep the chat connected.

Oh no! I hope I don't have to yell when using the xbox wireless headset, I am not a loud person either.

I have the wired Turtle Beach headset. I had the Xbox wireless, but the mouthpiece was so far from my mouth that people kept telling me to speak up. I'm not a loud person, but it is nice to use wireless. :D

I have also used the kinect as a microphone for chat while I'm working out, but it sounds really different for the listener.

All of our headsets are wired, but I know there are several wireless ones available. Microsoft themsleves makes one specifically for the XBOX360, but another company called Turtle beach makes wireless headsets for it, and they are awesome. I have a wired TB headset and I love it.
As for games we can play online.. Both Kinect Sports and KS Season 2 have "live" capabilities for play, and I think Kinect Adventures does as well. Dance Central 2 also does play over the live, but the original doesnt as far as I remember.

Thanks! I just ordered it. I know your friend list is full so anyone else out there have one so we can add each other and try them out?

While the Kinect can theoretically let you play and talk with other people, I have found it a little challenging. I've played Kinect Sports with a few people from the group and between the game and room sounds (kids), we had to keep asking each other to repeat themselves.

Microsoft just came out with a new headset that works with both the Xbox and your Bluetooth cell phone. If you get a call while playing, you can easily switch over to pick it up. Here is my full review:

They have to accept your friends request. Most games you can play with other people. The Kinect Sports is a great one to play with other people.

I bought a headset for playing with the folks I met here. I got it yesterday and it's wired! That's not going to work very well. What headset do others recommend? Can I do it without one?

Since I have a bunch of people pending I'm going to say it's like Facebook and they have to accept. I know Sports will let you play with a friend. I have the first one. I don't know what other games allow it. I want to know though so will be following this thread.

I have a question regarding Friends on XBL. Is it like Facebook, that I send someone a Friend Request, and they have to confirm, or does adding someone automatically "friend" them? Also, what games (that we discuss here on the forum, not 1st person shooter games and stuff like that) can we play simultaneously with our Friends, versus seeing their stats on my leaderboard and things of that nature?

Thank you...thank you. We have had ours for about a year but I know nothing about it. I just put the games in and that's it.

Every day someone buys a new Xbox and every day someone new has a question. To help us get through some of the common issues, I've started a web series called "Xbox 101". I'll link the articles here for easy access. If you have questions or topics you would like covered in future articles, please post them here.

The first article talks about Xbox LIVE:
