That's a healthy approach, ENKSATSUMA.

And also a nicer way of saying - keep your opinions to yourself; and I'll do the same

I quit calling myself anything in regards to my eating....vegan, meat-eater, raw foodie, whatever. Here's my thinking: I'm a person, not what I eat. Sometimes I eat raw, sometimes I eat vegan, sometimes I eat meat. But I do eat. So, I'm calling myself an "eater". emoticon emoticon

I find that little things like wording make a huge difference. For example instead of saying "I can't eat that" or "I won't eat that", I say "I choose to eat something different". It's easier to go "hey, have you tried this? It's really tasty" and then have that thing be vegetarian or vegan.

To me, what others eat usually doesn't affect me. I don't care if someone calls themselves vegetarian but eats yoghurt containing gelatin. Or if someone's vegan but sweetens their tea with honey. If you want to eat raw vegan, go for it. If you don't, don't go for it. Whatever works best for an individual.

I have fallen into the 'perfectionist trap' too. I'm one of those people who has often allowed one bad moment to ruin my entire day. So, I've changed the tracking of my goals. I now do it on a rating scale (1-10). This helps me to avoid the "perfectionist trap."

Yah I have fallen into the perfectionist trap many a time. It can completely stop me in my tracks.

In the end, the best things in life came from our own inner growth and that came from dealing with things that we wish didn't exist and making them better. So in that way, bad things are a huge blessing.

now, that's a little over the top.

What I was trying to get at is that you can be obsessed over just about any menu plan you pursue, and can scare people away in the way you present it.

There have been "holier than thou" vegetarians for years - those who say if you bite your nails you're "not really a vegetarian". So, the idea is, that you don't have to be on anyone's back just because they don't follow YOUR definition of whatever menu plan it is.

We all have moments when we're not exactly eating on the plan we set out for ourselves.
We all try to share our success with others, and our words/actions may scare them.

This is a great article, and applies to any menu you've chosen, not just the one in the topic.
