From what I know about it, I think that South Beach is a good diet. I don't think artificial sweeteners are healthy, but even if they are *permitted* on the diet, you don't have to eat them. I don't eat shellfish. Personal choice.

Please let us know how South Beach works for you.

No matter how slow you go, you are STILL lapping everybody on the couch.

I follow Atkins which is similar to South Beach.

They are solid ways of eating (aka 'diets') and just because it *allows* artifical sweetners doesn't mean you have to use them. I don't.

Hi emoticon

I don't know anything about the South Beach Diet; sorry, I can't offer anything in regards to it.

I too, do *not* consume any Science Laboratory made Sugars.
(Hardly any, in my whole life. I am, *very much*, against them; but, that's me. To each their own.)

I hope that you get the answers you need.

I tried South Beach a few years ago. I think it is a very solid diet. I am currently heading in the direction of a more plant based vegan diet but the idea of purging processed food and refined sugar is a good one and South beach is a great place to start. I don't use artificial sweeteners. Some people do use Stevia though. It comes from a plant which makes it different from chemicals like sucralose and aspartame. If I were going to use a sugar alternative, that is what I would use. I currently use fruit for sweetness. Blended dates can be a great natural sweetener.

Hi I have posted a blog about this and also questioned it in some of my other teams so sorry if I am repeating myself but wanted to get a rounded view if possible. I am thinking of starting the South Beach diet as it seems to fit in with the kind of way I would like to retrain myself to eat. My one concern is the fact that he says you can use artificial sweetners which I dont like to do.

Does anyone already follow this diet or do you think it is not very good. I would love to get your opinions

Thanks
