A woman I knew referred to 'foods that get you into trouble' as (blanketly) Brown Food. Deep fried, floured, devoid of fruits or vegetables: Brown Food

If you want a really clean looking car you don't take it out in the mud, right? LOL

You are correct, this is a problem. But you can avoid this by avoiding the foods your body doesn't want anymore. Eat clean healthy whole foods and load up on the greens and stay far away from the stuff that has gotten you into trouble. It isn't your best friend anymore.

Search around and find healthy life-giving whole food snacks that you can take to work. There is always a way to stay on program.

I think our bodies reacting poorly to junk food is a good adaptation - compliments of a good diet most of the time! Hooray for Mother Nature! I still give in to junk food sometimes but am SOOOoooo much more comfortable when I eat right!

Also, as we get older our bodies don't function as well on junk food. I can't believe my kids hardly eat any fruits or vegetables - although they were raised on them! They don't seem to be suffering any ill effects at this point. It will catch up to them.....

Hello new members.
Mrs1221- you are requested to call ahead. The management often would prefer to have a ‘sale’ than miss a chance. I have been going to watch others eat for over one year. Sometimes I bring a crunch or a munch. I bring my own bottle of water. I think that the darker the room the more that call would be in order. Some people trust the cooks/chefs and sent your own food to the back to be plated and brought out with the other meal orders; too much slicing and dicing at the table is discouraged. I am allergic and intolerant of so many commercially prepared foods I stopped ordering altogether.

I experienced this last night. DH and I are not going out to eat for quite some time; there just isn't a need anymore. He and I had been eating out 1-3x for the past almost 4 yrs. I can see now why I had such bloating and fatigue; my Gosh the things that food does to your insides!

Are you allowed to bring your own food? I am not sure if that's possible with health codes. OxygenMag.com has several quick and clean recipes that will make several portions so you can take leftovers with you if needed. I love the Chicken Quinoa Pilaf and I make a double batch and it's enough for hubby and I both to have lunch for week. High fiber and protein and it tastes better the longer it sits in the fridge!

Frying oil changing is not a well followed commercial kitchen science. Usually the cooks do not test (not required but recommended to look; smell; and take color and viscosity comparisons) or change cooking oils soon enough or often enough. The oil the fish was prepared in may have been too old or too hot at one time or not filtering out solid old pieces prior to the pieces you ate; thus rancid oil smells indicate and painful gut demonstrations are signs of this poor kitchen care reaction. Many doctors are aware of this. There is nothing they can do except assist in monitoring time; any purging is something the body must do. Complaining to the manager might fix today’s oil but this weakness in commercial fried foods is all too common. When under stress one may know will hit when shifts are scheduled may help remind a person to have tummy remedies handy and or avoid unclean food choices in stress filled days. Brain fog, migraines and poor test grades are pure frustrating results of diet with heated oils. Studies have proven this one. Maternal self care is a training thing. It is not guaranteed that a person will be self protecting from instinct. A letter or a 1-800 call with receipt number and date in hand to corporate may lead to a freebie coupon but assuming the same bad oil next time is possible. A bad oil event could happen to anyone. An oil intolerance or allergy is personal and so is the gut pain. Could it be an unidentified reaction to the specific oils used? I no longer cook in added oils (avoid soy-corn-canola-etc...) and only add cold pressed oils at the last possible moment never heated. My liver is too sensitive for any other practice. I once loved fried foods myself. I am sorry that you hurt and now have a poor memory of a great effort at performing your work shift.

I think once we give our bodies a rest from junk 'food' it begins to want only real food, and starts to identify junk 'food' as absolute crap. Junk is junk, not food.

I agree...The healthier I eat, the worse it is when I do eat something not so healthy. Takes all the fun out of it doesn't it! Lol. I think the unhealthy foods always made me feel bad...I just wasn't so aware of it? Or do our bodies become more sensitive as we eat better? I don't like to eat salad everyday either...I start adding too many extras to it! It is important to enjoy our meals....can you find a way to switch it up and eat something different, but still healthy? What are your choices?

I've come across this problem before, years ago when I managed to actually eat a cleaner diet for a while: the foods I used to live off of hurt my stomach now! It sux because I work doubles at a restaurant all weekend and I only eat 3 or 4 different meals there, and the fried fish last night I'm still regretting this morning!
I used to make a meal out of 3 candy bars and some chips, and a fried fish sand was a step in the right direction! Not so anymore. I'm getting so tired of grilled chicken on a garden salad!
