I picked up spring salad mix, watercress, spinach, garlic, green peppers, savoy cabbage, leeks, parsley, green onions, onions, broccoli, dino-kale, apples, aragula, bananas, cantaloupe, cucumbers, tomatoes, and asparagus ($1 a bunch!).
I knew I couldn't use all of before it spoils so I put the fresh herbs in a glass of water so they won't wilt to quickly. And I pulled out my dusty old vacuum sealer and it still works...I sealed up my asparagus right away.
I made a Tuscan bean soup with the leeks and savoy cabbage for meatless Monday. The spinach, I sauteed with tomatoes, garlic, and onions and also used in omelettes with fresh arugula.

Apples, raw carrots, some leftover mixed veggies, celery stix, grapes, cantaloupe, pickles... I may still have a small container of mixed salad greens, but it needs to be replaced with newer greenery! And we have lots of frozen veggies.

Also eggplant and spinach ;)
In the end, the best things in life came from our own inner growth and that came from dealing with things that we wish didn't exist and making them better. So in that way, bad things are a huge blessing.
