That's so nice of you to check in!!!!

I'm doing okay. I dusted off the treadmill and ran a mile this week and also did an hour long workout video on another day. Slowly but surely!! I felt a lot better this week. Thanks for checking in!

This is very normal as you may have reached a plateau. Initially, we have a tendency to lose more weight at the beginning because we move more than we have done before and we are more aware of what we are putting in our mouths. Once we hit a plateau, we need to modify things around a bit, like adding more repetitions, or cutting a little more on food, etc. Please look through the following links and see if you get more information on how to overcome this plateau.

Don't get discouraged because you can do this! Do you know the expression: "Move one stone at a time to build a great big wall", well weight loss is a bit like that -- one day at a time, one pound at a time.

Hugs. Lise

P.S. When I feel I am losing some motivation I read motivational stories to keep motivated. It seems to work for me.

Hi Team!

I joined SparkPeople about 3 months ago. I've lost 11 pounds. I'm happy for the 11 pounds, but bummed that I lost those pounds in the first month and haven't done much since. I keep telling myself the good news is that I haven't gained, however, I don't feel as "light" as I felt when that weight first came off and my jeans have been a little snug lately. I feel "heavy" again. I was eating really well for about 6 weeks (following the South Beach food recommendations), but slowly steered back to a few old habits over the last month or so, because I am having a hard time finding nice vegetables. I am fully aware this is a terrible excuse!!!! I feel like I am letting myself down, but even that hasn't kicked me back onto the right track. I had every intention to start running on the treadmill in January, but I haven't run once. I'm so dissappointed in myself. Why do we do this to ourselves? I know how good I feel when I am eating right and exercising so why don't I put in the effort to make it part of my daily life?!?!? UGH!!! What is wrong with me??

I desparately want to get back on track. How do you stay motivated? What do you do when doubt starts creeping in? How do you get over the boredom of eating the same things over and over?
