I think when I am watching tv and everyone else in the house is eating junk food. But I have been really working hard on eating healthier snacks in the evenings here lately.

I have been thinking and I have a second weak place - over the weekend early in the mornings and late at night, I tend to start wanting to eat everything in sight unless I am REALLY careful.

I would have to say when Im watching tv, mindless eating so Im getting myself under control now by putting heathy snacks in baggies, or counting out nuts , keeping them in baggies so I can pull them out when Im craving something crunchy.

Studying/working- I'm a procrastination eater. Getting my masters degree was awful on my eating habits! I'm working really hard in finding other things to procrastinate with (because let's be honest...cutting out procrastination altogether is NEVER going to happen).

I guess while watching TV, but eating while doing something like that has never been an issue for me. I generally eat less when multi-tasking because I go slower.

I have a half hour drive home and my risk is that first 5 minutes of the ride as I pass BK, McD's, Subway, 2 grocery stores and a couple of other stores - once I make my first turn, there are no temptations since there are no stores, restaurants, or gas stations - I keep my almonds in one oz. baggies and have one in my purse, I also have some snacks in the car so when I eat, it is single servings and it is already in single portion packs. That way, I can indulge but still not go crazy - it is when I stop and grab a burger BEFORE dinner or a shake that I am dead in the water. I have even been known when REALLY tempted to stop at the fast food, to actually stop at the grocery and buy a box of berries and indulge in them all the way home - they are probably my favorite treat when I can afford them.

I'm the same as Nancy. Right after work is the hardest time for me. I think it's more of a "break" or "reward" than it is hunger. Although, if I've missed lunch for said interruptions, I'm starving. As long as I don't have almonds in the house I'm usually ok. I always eat way too many nuts if they're in the house.

My most common problem is right after work when I skipped or was interrupted during my lunch - I get hungry, annoyed and then THAT is where my snacks in my desk, purse, car, etc. really come in handy I usually pick something both filling AND indulgent because I feel physically fuller and also emotionally soothed.

How do I destress and relax? If ever a timely question.....
I usually read or knit...something for me to focus on besides thinking about the problem over and over. I've also been known to make lists of "pros" and "cons" if its that type of situation. That helps me look at a problem less emotionally.

I am always looking for new ways to de-stress and to relax. The sermon at church talked about becoming closer to God and spending time meditating during Lent and becoming more aware and more spiritually centered.

By walking and generally being more active. I'm also at a huge school: 4 floors! I'm constantly walking the kids up and down and back and forth, and I'll often "walk the perimiter" by walking up to the 4th floor, walking around it, go down a flight, walk the 3rd floor, etc. all the way to the basement or ground floor. I also keep a pair of dice by my chair when I'm watching tv, and roll the dice to see what I'm going to do during commercials. That's an activity I learned from BLC. It's a fun way to add more exercise in your day!

If I'm out on playground duty I try to walk a few extra laps.....but my main for of exercise happens right after I leave for the day. I bring gym clothes which forces me to not make excuses. And if I'm working out at home I change as soon as I get home. The longer I wait the more things I come up with to talk myself out of it!

The fridge the restocks itself would be awesome!! I wouldn't have to go to the grocery store and whatever I need would be at my fingertips! I would get at least 2-3 hours to myself a week for not having to go to the store. Amazing!!

I would want another hour added to exercise. Especially if it means that I'll get to do Zumba, Salsa dancing or yoga.

Sign me up for the chef...but only if he/she will cook for the whole family!

I'm closer to my goal today than I was yesterday!

Oh my goodness - THAT would be HEAVEN - when I lived in Florida, we had an outdoor pool and I swam for hours every evening (I am not a big sun worshiper so when the sun dropped below the horizon, I dropped into the pool).

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

Oh Karen, that's a good idea! I love to swim. They closed one pool and opened a big aquatic center. I've never stepped foot in the place. Hanging out all summer with screaming kids from school doesn't sound like fun! The one they closed would have been a nice quiet place to go but of course they didn't want to keep 2 pools open. Boo!

Other: Since this is a "wish", I would wish for an indoor, heated swimming pool so that I could swim every day and do water aerobics. I LOVE to swim, and there are no pools in my community that are open convenient hours for you to swim. You either have to go at 5:00 am or at 9:00 pm. Just not going to happen... My Mom had a pool in FL, and when I would go visit her, I swam every day!

Definitely a personal trainer. I go to the gym a lot, but I know for a fact that I am terrible and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I could get a lot more out of my workouts if someone was there giving me that extra nudge telling me "yes you CAN do 5 more reps" or "bump that treadmill up in speed because you CAN do it"!!

A personal trainer. I have developed the healthy eating habits, and I enjoy shopping for nutritious food and cooking. However, getting my butt moving is really hard this time of year and maybe a trainer would help me get moving.

I would LOVE the home gym. I enjoy working out at home, but sometimes find it challenging to keep it interesting. A stocked home gym would help me add variety.

Wow what a hard decision. All those are good. I think I would choose a healthy chef. That would give me an extra hour in my day to exercise more.

All of those are amazing options- but I think a life coach would be the best for me! Someone to help me from questioning myself, doubting my abilities, or someone to help me practice saying no!

I have a pretty well stocked home gym and I hire a trainer online when I think I need one. I could use the life coach for many of the reasons Nancy listed below. People compliment me on my teaching skills frequently, yet I always question myself. I have a hard time believing I'm the person other people see me as.

Initially I thought I wanted a full gym, but I realize I would be much better off with the stocked fridge. I am learning to try new foods, and if someone else was stocking my fridge, I would definitely be in that position.

I think the advantage I would like this week is a life coach - I would really like to have someone who BELIEVES IN ME more than I do in myself. I TRY really hard to use affirmations, positive slogans, and upbeat messages, but the bottom line is that I STRUGGLE to believe it. For some reason this is especially true at work - I am better educated than most of my co-workers and even than the administrator - INCLUDING the superintendent and yet they are always surprised when I make a suggestion or offer a possible solution to a problem because few of them truly respect me. It surprised them that I have a BRAIN and that MY BRAIN WORKS - just because I teach kids with special needs they assume I am brainless and/or stupid.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

Oh my! I like all the choices but my one pick would be the fridge that restocks itself with healthy foods. That would help my budget and keep me from being tempted to make unhealthy choices at the store.

(My pets are helping to keep me healthy. My dog makes me go outside for walks and now the bunny helps me make healthy choices because he likes kale and other leafy greens. He even likes mustard greens, but I still don't.)
