Right now, with the holiday stuff coming up, it's sweets. Cookies, candy, etc. i just got over a salty phase though. I don't let myself buy my downfalls, so I just succomb to something else!

I would say cheesy foods, whether it's just plain cheese, or grilled cheese or mac and cheese...it's that warm gooey, melted, lusciousness that gets me every time!!

My biggest food problem is sweets. I get home from work and I am like a chocolate monster. I want chocolate. I can usually tame it with some diet hot chocolate or diet chocolate pudding.

I am an intelligent person.

No question, mine is sweets, especially chocolate. Even more specifically, Halloween chocolate I bought half price after Halloween. I totally set myself up for failure when I have it in the bag next to my bed. I find that I like to have something to eat while on the computer. Maybe I should stock up on gum

Sweet foods! I can usually avoid them, but lately they seem to call my name.

Mine has always been sweet food. The ooey, gooey chocolates and caramels that emerge this time of year just scream my name constantly!

My biggest problem indulgence right now is salty stuff - the sodium really holds the weight on. I got some little bitty crackers - 41 is a single serving - and I take about 6-7 at a time and the calories are really low but then I want some MORE and MORE breeds more and . . . Probably will not buy them again.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

I try to stay somewhat in control because if I don't, it can derail me for a week or more. I have one helping of anything I want and one dessert, then try to get a walk in.

I think we can do more damage day to day than on holidays...if you keep it to just that one day, which I have a hard time doing! emoticon

I strongly feel that we should live our lives instead of sitting on the side lines. If I want pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, I'll have it. One day of enjoying myself will not derail my entire crusade.

I would have to say that it really doesn't dramatically affect anything for me - BUT there is a caveat - it has in the past and may in the future, but I keep reducing the impact by changing the amount of food we prepare, the way we prepare some things, and how much of anything I eat. The same is true of exercise - I have slowly over the years found ways to minimize the impact of holidays on my exercise - walking while visiting, exercising as soon as I get up, planning on having a day of rest, etc. This year for the first time ever I went on trips and visited family and one time was gone for more than 2 weeks but each time I either stayed the same or LOST weight. I have not perfected the holiday thing but don't expect a MAJOR impact either.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

Does a holiday affect your diet & exercise?

No- I usually stay on track!

A little- I indulge but remain in control.

Big Time- I give up even trying

So So- I continue my diet OR exercise plan, but usually not both

I'm picking B. The pecan pie in D sent up a red flag immediately. A and C both had items that I steer clear of because of the fat/calories associated with them.

I always have trouble with this question - first of all, I don't eat stuffing, green bean casserole, or several of the other things listed. I know what I would eat and I will fit it into my eating plan and that doesn't look like ANY of those plates. Closest would be that I will have turkey breast - probably without the skin (although that is MY favorite part - when at Helen's house, the skin isn't the way I like it so I will skip it), small serving of mashed potatoes, a small sweet potato with just cinnamon, cauliflower, broccoli, a small dinner roll (without butter) one T of cranberry relish (homemade and sweetened with orange juice not sugar), and for dessert I will have a sliver of pumpkin and razzleberry pies with a dollop of whipped cream on the pumpkin pie.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

My guess would be C or B.. I'd avoid the pecan pie in D and be kind of wary of the green bean casserole depending on the recipe!

But all of them sound wonderful....

I've tried a couple of high tech ways of tracking, but I like the good ol notebook. I do Weight Watchers so I track my points, activity, and thoughts in a good old fashioned spiral notebook! I also have Weight Watchers etools, but rarely use it. I track my exercise on Sparkpeople, but not my food since I use the WW points system instead of calories.

I track with Spark and I bought a fitbit! (can't wait for it to come in the mail--the mailman thinks I'm stalking him LOL) I've used a bodybugg but didn't like the fact that I had to pay for a subscription. Sparkpeople trackers keep me on, well, track!

I track on SP but I also notice things like changes in levels of pain in my knees, my breathing, my scale (I don't record OFTEN but I WATCH it daily), changes in my appetite (both the things I WANT to and want NOT to eat, the amount of food I do eat and even the level of hunger/cravings etc. that I experience), and subtle things like those. I deliberately try NOT to make this exclusively about my WEIGHT but more how I am doing in GENERAL.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.
