My favorite summer activities are gardening, reading, and just enjoying the heat and the good weather! (It gets cold here in the U.P. in the winter).

Walking and enjoying the animals that come in our big yard. We have deer, squirrels and birds that visit our yard for the apple trees and acorn trees.

I love swimming, esp at the beach, but rarely go swimming bc I don't want to wear a swimsuit in front of anyone :/

walking--we have trails all around our neighborhood and the summer weather has been great--it's also nice that it doesn't get dark till 9 pm. I am also going to try biking.

New Question
What is your favorite summer time outdoor activity?
When I'm running - super important. It keeps me focused and on track and gets me through it. When I'm on the stationary bike, I usually watch Mythbusters on Netflix. When I'm doing a DVD, they usually have their own tracks, but I'm considering playing my own music, since I'm getting more used to the routine (I use Coach Nicole's DVD and LOVE it) and the music would help me kick it in some more.

I usually don't workout with any music, since I am working out with my friend. We end up chatting while we are huffing and puffing.

New Question
How important is it that you listen to music during a workout?
Very important-- I can't work out without it!
Neutral-- I can work out with or without it
Not important-- I hardly ever listen to music when I work out

I have started eating things in moderation. If not, I will crave them and eat too much. I have started to do better at choosing my food choices though. Plus trying really hard to just eat the portion size.

None. Forbidding myself to eat something will only make me want it more, to the point that I'd end up caving in and eating way too much. I'm like a kid who is told he can't do something - it only wants to make him do it more. Moderation is the key for me,

I believe in moderation. If you cut out certain foods, your body will feel deprived or unsatisfied. I have definitely cut back on certain foods, but I haven't eliminated them.

New Question
Almost everyone knows that a healthful diet can help you manage your weight and decrease your risk of disease. Although making healthy food choices should rank near the top of your priority list, many people resort to extremes.
**How many foods (ingredients, food groups, etc.) have you restricted completely from your diet without medical or religious reasons?**
None. I don't believe there are any
1-4 items. I just won't allow myself to eat some things because they're so unhealthy.
5 or more items OR an entire food group (such as carbs or fat)

I try to eat raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and black berries every day due to their high fiber and anti-oxidant properties. (Plus I love them!) Mixed in with plain, low-fat yogurt and a tablespoon of ground flax makes a great breakfast that gives me lots of energy! I sprinkle it with cinnamon, too. Yum! This can also be put in the blender for an on-the-go shake.
I had never heard of saskatoons. I'd love to try them but I don't think we have them in MA. :O)

For a few weeks our Farmers Markets will carry a cross of plums and apricots and the name changes whether it is more plum or more apricot. I love plucots! Berries over melon for me.

I had some wonderful peaches and strawberries last week, and I bought plums and cherries yesterday. I think I just love fruit, no matter what kind.
