I am trying not to have those days where everything sucks. Days like that I think it is my right to overeat. Doing so, leads me into a downward spiral where I overeat for two or three days in a row. My attempt to eat away the suckiness backfires and I instead feel horrid for days.

So the short answer is, 'not eat my pain'.

Edit:
Dang, that wasn't the question-- um, portion. I was answering an old question (How will you lose the weight... or something like that...)

Portion size - I know I can have anything I want as long as I can stay in the correct portion size.

Combination. When I plan the day it is a combo of nutrition and portion size--I know that small food is not as satisfying to me as a big plate of salad or something similar, and I want to fulfill as many of my nutrient needs as possible. When it comes to snacks though, it is all about finding things that will not push me over my calories for the day, so I have a stash of snacks with different calorie values.

If you have formed the habit of checking on every new diet that comes along, you will find that, mercifully, they all blur together, leaving you with only one definite piece of information: french-fried potatoes are out. ~~Jean Kerr

How do you plan to lose the weight?

A combination of healthful diet changes and gradually increased exercise.

I will overhaul my diet and start exercising as much as I can--I want to lose weight as fast as possible!

Gradual dietary changes alone.

Gradual exercise changes alone.

I'm going to try the new diet that my friend (sister/neighbor/co-worker/favorite celebrity, etc.) just tried.

I'd say it's a combo, it's not really wearing smaller clothes but the clothes that are so tight fitting well, and definitely looking better bc there's no muffin top anymore :)

I've always been critical of how I look and the size of clothes I wear. I've done a lot of work this year to focus on that less. As I get older I want to stay healthy for the future.

I'd be happy with any weekly weight loss, even half a pound

I am a very slow loser, but when it is off, it usually stays off, so I am just aiming for any loss. Right now I am on a mission to save myself from surgery on my eyes. So a loss is a loss! I have till September to really make a dent in my weight. I know I can do it.

It comes down to a simple question: What do you want out of life, and What are you willing to do to get it?

I have not gained but only lost two pounds in the last seven weeks since I am dealing with fractured ribs. I also had the flu and a stomach and intestinal virus so I consider myself very fortunate of not gaining and staying on track as much as I could. emoticon

I'm happy with any. I was down to what I wanted to be down to, and stayed there for about 3 years then over the last year I gained 15 lbs! I was so angry with myself. I finally took control back and lost 10 lbs. I need to lose 5 more to get back to where I was and I would like to lose an additional 5 more, but if I don't, then I don't and I am happy. I am happy with how I look and how I feel so to me that is all that matters.

I'd be happy with any weight loss, and even plan to gain some weeks (which has been the case)...this is realistic. I have been on plans where I lost very quickly and it just came back. So I'm in it for the long haul. As long as I look at my graph and there is a downward trend, I'll be satisfied.

Are You Ready to Lose Weight?

You want to lose weight, but are you truly up for the challenge? Embarking on a weight-loss plan involves more than a desire to tip the scale in your favor; it also requires a healthy mindset, consistent commitment, and support from others throughout your journey.

How much weight do you plan to lose each week?

I'd be happy with any weekly weight loss, even half a pound.
I would like to lose 1-2 pounds a week.
I would like to lose 3+ pounds a week.
I don't have a specific goal.
