In our area Uncle Bens also has a new rice and quinoa medley out in the orange pouch that is ready in 90 seconds. It is called Ready Whole Grain Medley - Roasted Garlic. It includes brown rice, red & black quinoa, garlic and seasonings. Unfortunately it is a little high in sodium but it might be a good introduction to quinoa. The regular quinoa is as easy to fix as regular rice. I have made it in my rice cooker. It cooks a little faster than regular brown rice.

It isn't available in some of the markets where I shop. I have found it in the health food section of some larger stores. I like it for it's versatility and the protein in it. I use it as a base for salads a lot instead of pasta. You can get some good ideas in the Spark recipes.

You can find Quinoa in the whole food section, or the cereal section, or the grain section. It will be in whole food section, usually it is sold in The Arrow Head Mills Brand. In Puerto Rico, grocery stores have a section on the foods you will find at a Health Food store and i had find it there sometimes, sometimes I had find it at the vegetarian food section of the grocery store.

There's nothing wrong with using the word "diet". It comes from the Greek word "diaita", meaning way of life. So to lose weight and keep it off we need to change our way of life.

I find it in the Health food section of my grocery store. I can buy it in a bag - Bob's Mill brand, I believe. It doesn't have to be rinsed. There are also boxes of quinoa. Be sure to read the label to see if it needs to be rinsed. I also buy quinoa flakes (Ancient Harvest brand) in a box to use for hot cereal or in recipes (muffins or banana bread) Check with gluten free foods also. I really like it. I have started substituting quinoa for the rice in my black beans and rice recipe.

In Australia you find it in what I term the Allergy Aisle of the supermarket (with all the gluten free stuff)

Quinoa, is a grain, kind of a cereal. I always buy it in Health Food Store or in the health food section in the grocery store. If you buy it in Health Food Store, look for it in the cereal section. This grain is very high in protein and in fiber. For my taste it takes a while to cook, but it taste cook with milk and vanilla as a hot cereal.
