Unfortunately, you cannot control the situation at work but you can control how you handle it. Try to stay grounded and focused on your goals. In these situations your mind can create the worst senarios and you can pull yourself down very quickly. I have been cut three times, due to budget issues, in the last three years from three different school systems, so, I know some of the anxiety you are feeling right now. Staying on track with your health will give you the strength to deal with whatever may come. Stay positive! Above all, believe in yourself!

Thank you so much!! I know I just need gentle reminders, and it helps so much to have those reminders coming from others. Even though I know what I need to do to stay focussed, it's hard to remember those things when it's most vital. Having external reminders is such a big boost.

Hang in there - it is very stressful when you can't tell exactly what is going to happen. Sometimes just sitting down and thinking about what you are eating and why helps. I have to distract myself, I think about it, figure things out and then go eat! So if I find myself heading that way I go for a walk or find busy work to do!

hang in there - I can relate on some level as I am rather low in seniority. It is a scary place to be at times. In fact, I recently found out that a supervisor rallied on my behalf two years ago and saved me from a furlough (I would've been notified in August). Ever since that revelation I have this concern in the back of my mind.

I do much better in the summer with walking, documentations, portion control etc when I can simply focus on that. . .

Know you are not alone !!! emoticon

I really thought I had gotten a grip on my emotional eating, but I discovered on Monday that I may be just having a hard time acknowledging it when it happens. I also haven't really had anything happen recently until Monday to even test the idea. My principal came to talk to me on Monday after a series of board meetings. The board has been working on the budget for next year, and due to a decrease in enrollment there will likely be some associate positions eliminated from the district. Mine is not a position in jeopardy; however, I could lose my job to one of the others if they want it because of my lack of seniority. My principal is supporting me, and has assured me that he will fight however he can to keep me and the other associate in my building right where we are. The problem is, he only has limited control of the situation. He reassures me that there is a good chance the others won't be interested in moving to my building in the first place. I am hopeful, but I did find myself eating without purpose that afternoon when I got off work. I didn't over eat, but I instead deprived myself of eating the rest of the day after I had realized what I had done. I think I had unconsciously punished myself for the slip.
