I have a problem with eating too little protein and fiber anyway, so I have some powdered things I add to my water that make it more filling, protein or fiber additives. Helps on both fronts. Having a pre-made salad with egg in it helps a lot too.
Distraction works really well with kids and I find it works for me too. I try to get active, drink some hot tea or do something else. You only want to eat when you are thinking about it so find a way to put your mind elsewhere!
