I taught my kids “Success is wonderful, but never inhale. Don’t be full of yourself.” Recently my Son said “Remember your “Success if wonderful, but never inhale” motto? Well Dad you’re either constipated or eating too much"

Not sue how one would wrap a new broom, but when I bought one recently, the clerk asked if I wanted it wrapped, I just responded, "No thanks, I will just ride it home." Everyone within ear shot laughed out loud.

I got one of those "are you open today"? Questions when I answered the work phone just the other morning! I burst into laughter and choked out "nope! I just snuck into the place to make a pot of coffee and answer the phone!"
Good thing the other person started laughing too I guess.

I know. Also, I wonder at times if I have "Customer Service" tatooed across my forehead. For instance, when shopping at the "Big W" and someone comes up and asks "Excuse me, could you tell me where the tupperware is?" Honestly, I don't work there. My reply? "Here ma'am, let me show you!" Lol!

Oh yes. My topic...too many things to count. Let me start by saying that I work in a convenience store. Needless to say, rife with possibilities. One thing that always gets to me is when I take someones money as they prepay for gas. Say, $20.00 on pump 1. I ring it up, place the money in the register, then they ask, "Did you turn the pump on?" Seriously? (No. I plan to watch your pathetic attempts to pump your gas while I laugh in an evil manner. Mwahahaha!)
Then of course as I am putting up our delivery truck sweating my tail off and puffing away, someone sweetly asks, "Excuse me, do you work here?"...Why no. I go to various stores throughout the day randomly lifting heavy boxes of merchandise and placing them all over. Who needs Golds Gym?!!! I swear, people really don't hear themselves!

Not having any issues before going to see the dentist, and then having issues after he drills a couple of teeth. That's my complaint o' the week. Or the past ten days, anyway. And the whole, "I'm out of town most of the week every week" means I get to wait three more days until I get to go back and complain in person. Watch the pain recede before Friday, so there's nothing to see when I go to the dentists, at which I will pay whatever copay I'll owe with gritted teeth which may well lead to new dental issues.

Just this past year one of our underpasses made the national news (probably during Sandy). hamptonroads.com/2010/10/record-rainfall-t hursday-caps-wet-week-region We flood when someone spits out their window. Recently it's been the mispronounciation of my last name. I will not tell you what it is, but it is under 5 letters and a verb. I've been getting jokes about it my entire life but never have I had so many people butcher it until I started my current job. And it's not just the substituting a similar sounding letter (a "t" for a "d" or what have you, I will accept that particular flub) but I'm getting things from completely out of left field that sound nothing like the original. Like if it were "Waits" and I'm being called "Williams." Seriously?
I think next time I'll tell them that I don't know who they're asking for and they should call the front desk and ask to be transferred and then hang up. Bwahahaha....

The "Special Kind of Stupid People" !!! Ok today was a whopper... A lady failed her written test on her EXPIRED Commercial license, she now wanted to drop down to a car, because she NEEDED her license! Never mind that it has already been expired for a month already. After explaining to her that by dropping the CDL for a regular car ... that after her 30 day waiting period is over she will have to retake all the tests again in ADDITIONAL to ALL the road testing again if she drops it......Well she did not want to hear that and went on about how NO ONE told her this ..... YES we did MULTIPLE times! !!! SHE then proceeded to write a novel on the application about how unfair this is and that NO ONE TOLD her this!!!!! I'm like I can't help it that you are to stupid to pass this test 3 different times... hence the 30 day waiting period..... ALL day like this!!! I just wanted to come home and have a drink of wine!!!!!!

Pardon the silly "Suth'nah," but what are snow tires? I shall assume that they are studded because it amuses me.
Because I do live in the south (kinda), I and my little sedan often get the joy of parking between gigantic trucks. Having driven gigantic vehicles before (learned to drive in a Chevy Suburban and drove the BIL's jacked up GMC Sierra... I liked his truck a whole heck of a lot more than I liked him), I understand that these things are difficult to park. That does NOT, however, mean it is impossible and give you license to take up 2 parking spots. Not that I'd ever say anything to them. Their monster trucks would crush my widdle puddle jumpah.
Related NSV: I don't have to squeeze out anymore when some fool parks on the line. It might take a bit of contortion, but I can get out fairly easily. FTW!

I am not shocked at all 2B! I expect nothing less! By the way, were you a cheerleader? Just asking .
Boppy - Great job with Staples! Sometimes you have to get in their face, instead of trying to reason with the less than adequate, barely literate phone jockeys who have no clue. Sarcasm is lost on them; why waste your talent!

I'm a fan of sarcasm. I am. However, sarcasm sometimes ain't all that it's cracked up to be.
As my blog mentioned, I've had a series of problems with Staples -- the office supplies company. I called yesterday to complain about their policies and ineptitude, waited on the line to wade through their IVR menus, and at various points had to listen to how much of my time they were saving. When I finally got through to an actual human, she immediately told me that I called the wrong number.
Sarcasm failed me!
I blew up at her, and said that I had dutifully followed the menus to get to her and that Staples instruction were that she was "the right place". She said there was nothing she could do, that she was not "corporate" and that I would have to call corporate. I completely lost it at that point, and I told her that she needed to have corporate give me a f____in' call, and that if it didn't happen, I was going to make everybody involved famous -- for better and for worse, because I am not wasting any more time, and I didn't care what the consequences were.
Much to my surprise, I got a call from Staples, today, and they fixed everything. I'm dumbstruck. Sarcasm is still failing me. And, I'm delirious about it.

I had a guy tell me today that you do an air leak check by putting a block of wood on the brake and go outside the truck and listen for leaks....... I mean REALLY?!?!?

Marty, you bring out your own sarcastic side by your own silly actions or words? Well ok then, you may want to share some examples so we can laugh too!!!!!!

I found these stickers last year and am going to get them for those fun days of summer parking. They're low-tack (so easily removable) or you can just tuck them under someone's windshield wiper. I had found a website that showed them in use (people were sending in their "special" photos) but can't find it now.
If someone parks like an idiot, it's our job to make sure they know it. Some people do it by accident, and some do it on purpose, but it never fails to make me want to do something horrific to their cars. I don't, because I'm a law-abiding citizen (and yet, not a suck up!), but in my mind...oh, I'm hurting those paint jobs...

You just reminded me of one of my favorite bumper-stickers of all time:
"If ignorance is bliss....then you must be orgasmic!"
If you want to win anything- a race, yourself, your life- you have to go a little berserk.” George Sheehan
"You can't cross a sea by merely standing and staring at the water.” Rabindranath Tagore
