Yep. I agree with you there. The same thing goes with bailing out the big three. Nothing should be based on who's friends with who but on some sort of equality factor.

The problem with bailing out homeowners is not that there aren't those who deserve the assistance. It is that doing so inherently punishes those of us who are also struggling, but still hanging on. Why oh why should the person across the street get a break on their mortgage, on my dime, when I am barely making ends meet myself, but not qualifying for Jack?

If there is meant to be mortgage relief, it needs to be available on some sort of an equitable basis. I'm tired of being the beleaguered middle class taxpayer who is at the mercy of extremism on both ends of the financial spectrum.

The only defense I have about homeowners asking for a bailout: Yes there are many that bought the house on a variable interest rate. That was their first mistake! Many folks buy, buy, buy and then whoops. I can't afford anything, help me out!

Then there are the folks like us who have been very good about paying the bills, have a fixed interest rate on a 15 yr mortgage (now have less than 10 to pay it off) and are very decent bill payers. Well, DH lost his job. Been trying to find another one for 8 months. He had a nice severance for 6 of the 8 mos. The last couple of months, we've had no choice but to live on credit. It was that or live on the street. Now he has a job and we are trying to figure out how to get back on our feet. Our first thought was to walk away from everything. However, with the new job, if we do that, he will lose the job. So, long story short, yeah, if your stupid and live beyond your means for the pure reason of keeping up with the jones, shame on you! Fix your own problems! However, for those of us that are trying and not keeping up with the jones, please help! lol!

The bailout was one of the last big Bush "give aways" to his rich buddies that put him in power. It sickens me that our future has been spent and our country has been pretty much destroyed by this moron who has raped and bankrupted every business he's ever been in.

Joke? Jokes ARE supposed to be funny and there is NOTHING funny about what is happening. Yes it too makes my blood boil, infuriates me and makes me want to scream I'm as mad as h*ll and I'm not going to take it anymore; however, all of this is happening whether we like it or not.

I personally do not think ANYONE should be "bailed out" regardless if it is a homeowner that bought a home they KNEW they could not afford or a corporation! Every one of those IDIOT CEOs should be fired and black listed from being the head of anything!

But...just think Wayne WAS supporting the airline industry with those flights...just think of the impact if he can no longer fly and collect those frequent flyer miles...and Starbucks may well need a bailout too if he can no longer get his coffee....and his Mistress, I'm sure she does her part to support the economy as well....OMG whatever shall we do???

I have to see if the bank can get me a new mortgage so I can help....

I know what you mean! Really! I got an e-mail a while ago that said something to the effect of if we split the money between every American over 18 that would give each and every one of us approx. $250,000. Married couples would get $500,000. Imagine how much more that would stimulate the economy than bailing out wall street! Then what really ticks me off is that I live in Michigan. The automakers really screwed up. (Big surprise there with the reliance on the unions-don't get me started on that one!) They are begging congress to help bail them out-but congress is giving them a hard time! I don't think congress realizes how much Michigan relies on the auto industry and how much in the crapper our economy is. I don't think either one should be bailed out, however, just like opening a can of worms, I think its only fair if you bail one you should bail the other. Just my two (ok maybe 3) cents worth! lol!
