Oh, I have nothing but respect for soldiers. But as the kid of a career military father, I grew up hearing a lot of beefing about "good ideas" from the upper brass.

No one answered your question, so I shall put it bluntly.

Everything except Military Intelligence is an oxymoron.

Military Intelligence, whence came the sharpening of my wit, requires that one see outside the box - but to able to affect change from within.

It requires the ability to see what no one else sees and the ability to ignore what others see because it is immaterial.

Military Intelligence can be boring, depressive, enlightening, fun and terrifying. It can make you wonder about the control over your bowels.

It can make the slowest person a 10 flat sprinter when pursued buy Doberman Pincers; one can do a standing high jump of over 8' when it appears as if you might be caught in a place you shouldn't even know about - let alone be.

Just because all of the "face time" is given to fat butt bureaucrats is no reason to dis the young men and women who daily put themselves in harms way, wartime or not.

I apologize for the rant. You accidently touched a sore spot and I reacted with an exagerated reflex phenomenon - often seen in combat vets.

I wasn't focusing my ire on you, and I hope you understand that it was just steam coming out of my ears.

So I'm thinking a great question to pose to our presidential candidates during the next debate might be, "What's your opinion of the minimum swage?"
First, the looks on their faces would be priceless in itself. Then they'd convince themselves they'd heard it wrong. Then one would tell us that the low-income families need them raised to make ends meet, and the other would explain how detrimental to small business owners it would be to raise them. Tee hee....

Speaking of the government (actually, all the Boy Scout leaders stayed at home so we have no leaders), CNN had a poll today that asked, "Do you think the candidates of either party realize what is important to the average citizen"?

69% said, "NO".

I wonder if being in Vietnam, Japan, Australia, West Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Canada and Mexico qualifies me as to foreign policy matters?

I know it qualifies me as to foreign party matters!

Omg....there is SO MANY great things to see here!!!
Within 100 miles of my home I can ski, camp, hike, go to the ocean, see any major sports team play, go to plays,major comdeians & band play at our local casinos & fairs, etc....'Shrek the musical' just started it's USA tour in Seattle... 60 miles up north from me!!!
Hopefully by the time the kids move out gas will be reasonable again!!!!

NOOO...can't be! I don't adapt well to new fangled things....! If gas prices were so high, I would love to head out that way (when the kids move out!) and travel the country in my camper.
