Lesson Learned from buying my apartment.

~Make sure you live in a place with an outdoor area. Whether it be a tiny patio or balcony, or a huge yard. Make sure you have instant access to the outdoors and then create your sacred space there. Even if it's just a comfortable outdoor chair to have your morning coffee on. Do something with your outdoor space.

~Why: the outdoors helps reduce your stress levels. Sitting outside brings you peace and serenity you cannot achieve being inside 4 walls. We are an animal species, designed for wide open spaces in nature. Take advantage of that.

So they changed the way the team pages look and it's not too bad. I'm not sure how often I'll use the 'team wall' but for positive announcements it might be cool. I don't see the huddle anymore and I loved that. I'll post again if I find it. Team Leaders got an email about the changes and of course those where in the two days I didn't log in!

So I need to restart the Skinny Jeans challenge, I was away mostly without internet for a week and so I missed just about all of the challenge so far.

I want to reduce my wheat intake.

I want to ride my bike at least 3 days a week.

Hey team. Things have been a bit out of hand and crazy lately and I fell like I'm losing myself in this work again. I have to get it all done and that leaves nothing for me at the end of the day. Last night after working an extra hour at my job I worked from 5:30 to 10pm last night.

My job was never supposed to ruin my life. It was supposed to help me live a good one, not make me hate being alive. No you can't leave a job like mine, not with this many years in and my benefits and pension at stake. I've already invested over a third of my life into this career and I did it for the benefits so I can retire safely and not work until i'm 85.

Need more balance. Continuing to work hard on changing my negative thoughts when they start. Weight starting to come off. A few more weeks until a lovely Spring Break vacation with dad up in Maine, hiking and riding my bike and enjoying the scenery. If I stop playing game with my food choices I could really lose 8 more pounds for my vacation, I'll feel a lot better if I do. If I really am at 174 like it said and I can work out all this week and next and watch my eating I can make my February 28th goal of 170 pounds and start off March right. Then my March goal will be 165. It's a big challenge but it's very possible to accomplish.

I know I've been dying for the good weather but nothing is stopping me from going to the gym but me. I'm keeping my membership and I need to use it! Best decision to not get rid of the YMCA, what was I thinking?

Wow that changed fast. By the time I got around to picking up my parents at the airport on Saturday I was getting really sick. Sunday so far was the worst of it if I'm lucky. My fever was gone yesterday and I'm feeling okay today. If Sunday was a 3 I guess today is a cautious 6, I haven't left the apartment since I got home on Saturday and I have barely even left the bedroom in those days. Today I get to drive in a huge snowstorm for my first day out. Yes I was probably a serial killer in a former life to deserve this hahahahahaha. I hope the snow comes later than predicted for safety's sake get everyone home safe ahead of the worst of it.

Coming out from under what was obviously a TOM hormone haze, I can actually feel the physiological difference inside now that I'm returning to normal levels. With increased exercise I can reduce the severity of those changes. At least I can recognize and navigate them now, they do not control me. Next step is to not 'suffer' through it but to learn to treat it so the symptoms are less intense. I don't know if I can eliminate them completely, that will not be the goal, but to reduce the extremes of the wave I'm graphing shall be the goal.

Having a great week. Might even have lost a pound. Need to keep increasing the exercise. Started learning a new Yoga DVD. AM Yoga with Rodney Yee. I want to learn the different routines and see if I can start to do them in the morning when I wake up. If not the actual AM, I do enjoy doing them when I get home in the afternoon, that's mostly when I could use some restoration from Yoga.

Long full week ahead. I'll continue to keep my promise and not talk about well that think I'm not talking about. Great family evening tonight, dinner and games with my brother. Tomorrow afternoon I'll get in some exercise and pick my brother up from work. Then it's out to dinner with dad. Monday's are good like that.

Every day I have my meals planned out so there is no guessing as to what I'm going to be doing, no take out excuses either. I even wrote it down!

Day 2 of working on a new habit, having a cup of tea again instead of eating something. When I go back to work I'll be very mindful of planning my meals for the week and prepping healthy snacks up on Sunday again.

Write out an actual menu of what to eat. Sit down and plan something good every day.

Have a wonderful day everyone. The tree is up, the apartment is decorated and I'm excited for the Holiday season. Ready for a short week, a lot to get done this week, have to find places to sneak in a workout here and there to keep the calories burning and the muscles growing. I plan to do bicep curls tonight when I get home and before I take my brother to work. I can't do a crazy full workout but then this is why we have weights at home, biceps and triceps tonight. Why am I not doing that more often.

Short, no time work out
1. Plank 90 seconds.
2. Bicep curls 3x12 with 12 pounds
3. Tricep curls 3x12 with 5 pounds
4. Pushups, modified, 10 if I can.

That's a good little plan for the evening. emoticon

Ready for the week. Went food shopping, cleaned the house, beat a cold. Feeding the cats soon so I can enjoy Sunday dinner with family and get a load of laundry done. Then when I come home I'll finish up what I need to do to prep for the week. What I'd like to do is walk before bed. Just walk around the block a few times, keep it simple and fill up my spark tracker for Sunday.

I love those spontaneous walking events! I will have a chance to walk from my metro north station 3 days this week. Wednesday my dad happened to be in White Plains at the time and picked me up. Today I'll walk home too. I'm coming down with a little head cold, and the walk in the beautiful weather will be very medicinal and get my Spark Activity Tracker all lit up!

Score 1 for me! I was tempted to take the shuttle from Grand Central to Times Sq. then walk 1 block to the Westin Hotel for my conference. Well, guess what? I WALKED both ways!!! Last minute decision (while riding the Metro North). So today, I walked from Grand Central to 8th Ave. & 43rd St.

This is exactly the type of morning I worked so hard to get through. You know that morning, the 'are you kidding me?' type of start to the day. This is what all that time on the couch prepared me for. The get up and go no matter what. There are only 18 days in this month, this is not the time to ruin my perfect streak. Only 10 months to survive, and I have already checked off 2 of them. I won't be happy if I can't check this one off too. This is my pep talk, this is me knowing my team is there to support me today.

I'm gaining weight too, I went up another 3 pounds, I have to figure that out this week, I am not tracking or measuring, so I can imagine how many extra calories I have consumed. Time to head out.

Ready for another week everyone! Food shopping done, meals and work outs planned, positive outlook toward work all week. Plank challenge well underway, just completed day 9 of 30, 60 seconds and I'm feeling the strain now and I love it. I should head over to Yoga tomorrow night. Halfway through week 2 of my post reflection days and I am feeling good about moving forward without the obstacles that I have faced these past 2 years. I even tracked an Outback meal using the official nutrition information from their website. I have too really see what I'm really eating if it's going to have the effect I need it to have.

I forgot my almonds and granola bar today and it's 9:15 and I'm hungry for lunch already. Downed almost a liter of water already just to try to stay full. I run to the ladies room more than a full term pregnant lady.

Such a positive week last week I don't care about the scale, I care that I go to the gym 4 days in a row and made good choices. This week I'll keep up the positive momemtum with the gym and work harder on my food choices. I got more healthy snacks that are all premeasured now, let's see if I can get rid of 2 pounds by Saturday.

Hi team. I think I'm doing okay. No take out spending so far this week, all home cooked or out with family. The days I didn't eat take out I transferred $10 into my savings account for my Ireland trip and next Scuba trip. Not much I know, but avoid take out 10 more times this month and every month? Add that up! It's a great way to sneak an extra $100/month into your savings account without even trying, and you'll be saving 1000's of calories every month not eating the take out. Too easy to do when you're single, just grab and go on the way home from work.

My body is really dragging today. I would really welcome a nap. My brain is staying positive even though my body feels like a ton of bricks. I plan to lunch walk again today no matter how bad I feel, the walk will be good for me.

I got a lot of support from my Spark friends over the past 2 weeks and I think I may be out of this slump. I moved into week 3 for my 5K training, I've been tracking my food and taking better care of me. Before I go to bed everynight now I'm going to write down 5 great things about me from that day. I got the idea from a motivation article. If I focus more on motivation and wellness the other aspects will be easier to do.
