I would like to see what SKINNYIS4PUNKS makes, too.

I had to chuckle at our mini-Michael's. (Michaels is trying out a small footprint store for smaller cities. Stuff is stacked to the very high ceiling and the selection is questionable. They do have huge scrapbook and jewelry sections.) They call their steampunk jewelry display "industrial" with no mention of the word steampunk. Most of the stuff in their "industrial" display is available at Harbor Freight for less money and a tiny bit more work.

Better late then never - to reply anyway. There are getting to be a lot more options when it comes to Steampunk anything. I don't know if it will last but I am enjoying it while I can. I don't have any Hobby Lobby's in my area but we do have Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics and they both have some steamy jewelry charms/beads and things. I hope you find a jewelry idea and give it a try. I'd love to see what you create SKINNYIS4PUNKS!

This is probably old news, but I was at Hobby Lobby the other day, and they had a project idea sheet (the tear off kind they have around the store) dedicated to Steampunk jewelry. They have some beautiful charms and everything else you need to make some gorgeous jewelry... I've never made my own jewelry before, but it definitely inspired me.

Cool for the goggles!

Instructables can be so dangerous. A search for "steampunk" there comes up with so much stuff that I can't make up my mind and my time gets all wasted in just looking at the project possibilities. It's great to get that filtered here.

That's what I like about this project in particular- there is so much room to make it personalized! It encourages that DIY steampunk experimentation! I hope you and your son give this a try!

Great idea STELLAR! Getting basic ideas and developing them to fit what you like or need is always inspirational. I will be on the look-out for more how-to's as well. I was just thinking about putting together a (steampunk) outfit for my youngest. I think he would enjoy this goggle project too. It would be easy for him to add his own touch to it.

In this thread lets collect and share steampunk crafty projects we might come across in our travels. I want quick projects to play with when I've got a creative block or when I need quick accessory.
