yesterday was such an awesome day but still fighting the urge to just eat whatever and however much I want.

I'm sticking to no soda ..not even diet. and at least 8 cups if not more water.
Exercise 3 x a day. Walking between 1.5 and 3.5 miles per session. Will restart weight training when Dr. clears me from hernia surgery 2 weeks ago.
Eating very clean and sticking to portion control. ALOT ALOT of fruits and veggies. Lean sources of protein and not just meat..experimenting with alternate sources. Low fat dairy in moderation. Only whole grains. No processed foods if I can help it and nothing junky like high sugar/high fat snacks.
Making sure to track all my nutrition/fitness and post on message boards. Reviewing blogs and pages and videos. Reading a lot of extra stuff on line about nutrition and my issue with binging.
Taking my vitamin and one medication I'm still on. So far able to stop 15 other pills and 3 inhalers.
Finding time for prayer/meditation
Watch very little tv if any, usually just evening news after my exercise is over.
Spend as much time outdoors with my kids.
Taking care of myself physically, doing girly things for myself, hair, nails, lotions, facials...feel good stuff

I've been doing this for a couple months now with only 2 major hiccups. This is my lifestyle for the rest of my life....we can do it.

When placing food for meal on plate, I half it and save rest for another meal. Then evaluate if I really need to eat all that is left. Becoming more aware.

Hi! I just read through MACILINN's postings since the beginning of 2014. YOU GO GIRL!!! What an inspiration, what with your weekly goal-settings and progress-not-perfection outlook.

not adding any more changes for awhile! here are the ones I added since Jan 1st and kept them all!

DAILYS NMW!
Brkfst, vits, spark, 30+ min of exercise, only F&V's after 8!

Wkly commitments
1. No fried foods until my 100 day challenge is over
2. walk everyday
3 post on a blog daily
4. write a blog wkly
5. at least 1 F&V a day
6. 50 sit ups everynight
7. 1 serv ea of snack foods
8. 3 bottles of water daily +!

enough commitments to do everyday! will post when I need to refresh!

sticking to my commitments and wkly challenge of 1 serv of snack foods, today there was a bday cake w/;extra pcs just sitting around, I didn't have a 2nd pc even though they were right in frount of me, Q???? Why didn't I move or move it? Next time I will think and move it or me. why have to think so much about it when it was an easy fix. Oh well one thing at a time!

At the team snack table, had fruit, one mini choc gbar and 18 mini pretzels w/1 tsp pnut butter. wanted more pretzels and choc gbars bad, but grabbed fruit instead. Remember my challenge this wk was to eat one serv of each snack food, today did it! woohoo.

my goal this wk is to eat only one serv of each snack food. today my hubs brought me some valentines see's suckers, i ate one and it was so yummy. Now I just need to stick to that one only. In the past 20+ yrs my hubs always buys me a box of See's nuts and chews and this yr i told him I wanted the suckers instead. 80 cals a sucker instead of 80 cals a candy.

The suckers not only last longer but i can eat just one a day! I think!!! I know I can't do that w/the peanut clusters, caramels, etc.

This wk 100% on my nightly crunches! woohoo.

wk 1- no deep fried foods
wk 2- daily walk
wk 3- post on someone elses blog
wk 4- eat one fruit and vegi a day
wk 5- write a wkly blog myself
wk 6- 50 crunches a day
next wk: wk 7- Only eat 1 serv of snack foods! if there is no place to ck what a serv is, than use my palm, (one palm full) or count 10, or 1/2 cup if its liquid or soft.

Plus doing my dailys of course!
1. healthy bkfst
2. spark
3. vitamins
4. exercise 30+ min a day
5. Only F&V;s after 8!

So far have kept all commitments as best as i can. 99.9% and have lost over 11 pds since Jan 1st. life is good!

No sweets yesterday! This week I'll add drawing/painting something every day, even if it's a small 5min doodle. It doesn't seem like a weight loss goal, but drawing means less eating for me. :P

Just did my first blog response, read a few until i found the one that hit my soul. It was from a women who gained her wt back and it was called Groveling back. That's what I had to do, big time humbling. Today I am 100% as of 2014. These challenges are really a big help. I walked the past 6 days, Idon't think I have ever walked 6 days in a row. Plus my tennis.

One of the things that I have to do is catch up sometimes, not because i choose to not do it, but because I sometimes forget. One day i woke up the next day and went "OMG I forgot to walk yesterday, so i put on my walking shoes and started walking. I did 2 long walks for the day before and the day I noticed" I give myself a break, I was busy and gone the whole day I forgot 8am-10pm.

2 days ago I ate a taco in a fried shell for dinner, when i was done I reached for a tortilla chip and thought OMG No those are deep fried. Than I realized I had eaten the taco shell. No worries I just let it go. New habits are hard to change. Oppsies are not the same as blow its!

I am sharing this in the hope you will be kind w/yourself if you experience an oppsie this wk, just make it up and move on. Then pat yourself on the back for doing your best. that's what i am doing today! If It was an honest mistake,and I make it up, it doesn't count! Progress not perfection!!! Happy Sunday all! emoticon we can do it, we can, we can!

I didn't get in a huge walk but did walk to the pool & back instead of driving. Other than that I was super busy, tennis team practice, lunch w/friends, hanging w/my DD;s than dinner at my youngest DD;s home, we just got in, it's past 10. I did spot a small bag of chips left in the car and my first instinct was to pop one in my mouth, nope I didn't! woohoo.

I did do something that may have been foolish, I am not sure if its gonna be aprob or not. I bought candy off the clearance isle. I know I can hear you now. "what were you thinking?" I am going to try to freeze it and just bring it out alittle at a time, maybe even make some kind of commitment for it (still thinking) so far no candy in this mouth. If I eat over 3 in any day I will give them away immed! That's the only commitment I can think of for now. Good night sparklers!

My major goal is to not have any pop for the rest of the week since it's the way to try to lose my weight. I'm not buying anymore pop and avoid ordering pop when I go out to eat. Drinking as much water as I can to be healthier and help clear my system out.

My goal of not eating any deep fried foods and doing my dailys everyday went great! I had a few minor moments of unconcious slips but quickly realized and stopped immed. New things are hard to remember sometimes.

My addition to the things I am doing is taking a walk everyday, even if just around the block, and of course keeping my commitment to at least 30+ min of exercise. Today I had two walks, I don't think I have ever had two 30 min walks in my life on the same day! woohoo.
