Welcome! Is it possible that instead of hungry, you're really thirsty? And/or is your 'hunger' actually mouth hunger--you know, the kind where what you're really wanting is a party in your mouth, but you're not feeling the abdominal pangs? If it's thirst, well, that's easy. If it's mouth hunger, then maybe chewing gum would help, or finding something to distract yourself. If it's true hunger, are you getting enough fiber and/or protein?

Portion control water and exercise all are very important , but it does take time and some setbacks along the way, but don't quit- keep trying and finding out what your problem is or you will always be overweight..Just keep fighting and don't think there is one trick that will get you there (some little tricks may help) but it will take hard work and alot of time to get you there.. and to keep truckin...

Hello and welcome!
The more I get involved with SP community the better I feel and the better I do on the program. I visit and answer blogs a lot. That said, it takes a while to find what works best for you, so in the meantime be as kind to yourself as you can.

You are not alone with portion distortion. Used to think a half gallon of ice cream or a one pound of sourdough pretzels were ONE serving. Enjoy you journey with SP!

You can press forward long after you can’t. It’s a matter of wanting it bad enough.

As you keep posting and searching around SP, you will be amazed that you don't have time to eat all day and will make healthier choices.

So, I'm trying to use sparkpeople as a way to break my bad eating habits-it's not even that I eat unhealthy foods, but up until now I was eating nonstop, and did not have portion control. Calorie counting seems to be working as a way for me to control my portions as I do want to lose weight, but I do still have food on my mind all. day. long. Any tips? Does this ever change if I stick with the program? and do I feel hungry because my body is adjusting to a new style, and amount of calories?
