When I get mad at myself it is usually just what I need to get motivated again. I too was a spark person who was successful then I fell back into old habits. Here I am again with 50 pounds to lose. We can do this. We know what needs to be done and we are capable of doing it again. Good luck to you!

Been there. Done that. Yesterday as a matter of fact.

These long range goals are met by smaller range goals - one day at a time. Let's all go out there and have a much more successful day!

TAWNEY, I was going to send you a Spark Goodie to "cheer you on!" but your page was set to private, so I'll just say, I'm glad you checked here first. The only way to fail is to give up, and you're right, you can do this!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thank you so much for your thoughts. They are so helpful. I was wavering but decided to look here first and I am glad that I did.
I will have a reasonable supper and carry on. I can do this!

I've been there also.

My doctors visit is next week and I was hoping to lose at least 10 pounds before then (the appoinment was made in July) so hopefully my blood pressure numbers would be better

Have I made my goal...NO! I get frustrated as, like you, I know what to do but won't.

So I will just take it one day at a time, and try not to stress over it!

I can totally feel your pain and disappointment. Take this journey one day at a time and commit to having more good days than bad days and don't give up on yourself.

Also, consider finding someone to share with. A good friend, mentor, therapist. A place you can be really honest about your feelings and there's no judgement.

I wish you the absolute best on this journey and please know you are not alone.

I am recovering from a binge this morning. I have so many good things happening in my life right now and yet I am choosing to binge and not feel really good about myself.
We are going on a wonderful trip in December (something we have not done before) - what is wrong with me?
Today will be a good day - I am going to take it one hour at a time.

Don't be so hard on yourself. If you need to, just take baby steps - tell yourself you're going to walk the track for 10 minutes and then add a little each day or week. And to heck with what people think! (if my daughter knew I was typing this, she'd say, "Mom, you're a hypocrite - you worry about that all the time!" And you know, I do! But when I really stop and think about it, most people are so wrapped up in their own heads and their own lives that we're not even "on their radar."

And I've heard people say that the really fit folks who are out there everyday really admire the ones that have a ways to go, but are still out there every day, plugging along and not giving up! And if some of them are all "hotsy-totsy" and think they're "all that" then forget them! Just keep thinking how great you'll feel as an officer in the air force - healthy and fit!

PS - try a large Diet Coke from Mickey D's in the mornings - it doesn't have the sugar rush, but the caffeine sure helps!!! :D

I'm sorry you are feeling the way you are. But know that you're not alone. Maybe a diet buddy might help you. Or an exercise buddy? It's worth a shot.

Welcome back, EWYLIE12!
I agree with CLASSYLADYMAY - You know what you want, make up your mind, and aim to do it. You have done it before, so you know you CAN, but I hear ya, KNOWING what to do and DOING it are two different things. Guess that is why so many of us are here at SP. It isn't that we don't know basically what to, we just lack the motivation to put our knowledge to work and make the doing part a reality. SP is the BEST motivation, so the excuse of no support/motivation is no longer a stumbling block. WE CAN ALL SUCCEED at reaching and maintaining our goals. I am having a rough time it myself lately and actually gained 2 lbs my second and third week after joining SP. Had extra stress those two weeks when DH was laid off from work and my daily routine went in the dumper. If not for SP, I know I would have gained more AND would have been so angry at myself that I might have just given up completely.

You have to be aware of what your doing , have a meal and then "watch" yourself and try and make sure you have nothing your not supposed to...I have been struggling and finally have some progress to report. I am just begining again , I started and lost alot then gained alot back. Because I lose my motivation in a week or two, I keep trying to go back to day one of my new plan again..It really is a war and you have to get in there and fight back all the time..Real good luck to you....

Don't beat yourself up so badly. You could be retaining fluid and that accounts for the 3 lbs. Just cut back on the sodium and within a day or two you'll probably have the 3 lbs gone again.

I am so sick of myself with the yoyo weight. I've went from 206-183 in a year BUT gained the 3 lbs just in the past week. I know exactly what to do.. I just DON"T do it! Tonight.. I'm starting to walk at the track down the street at least 30 minutes a night since my night classes are over. There's no damn excuse! The track is brand new and is NICE. People would DIE to have a school track within walking distance of their house that's safe. This crap is over! I'm so tired of not wanting to get out of the car because I'm embarassed by my damn weight! I used to be a leader here and I was so excited. I will get there again because this is ridiculous. I'll be going in the air force as an officer next year so I need to get my ass in gear as far as fitness goes. I'm so dumb that I just won't do the crap. Small goal for this week is drinking 6 cups of water a day. With 3 kids and me in school FT.. life catches up with me because I'm one busy momma with sports and activities but that's no excuse. This is stupid. My face is so dry because I drink a L Coke from Mcds every single morning because I got off of diet pills so mentally.. that's my get up but in reality.. that really doesn't work. Just makes me fatter lol. I started off with EE and I'm back at EE to start again and to stay here to end up helping others once I get my butt in gear again. emoticon
