Thanks,guys. I needed that. Actually, I rarely drink soda and if I do it's diet. Have switched mostly to water and of course coffe and diet hot chocolate. Trying to give up most sweets and only eat diet ice cream bars. In all this, I found a new addiction...nuts. I convinced myself they are healthy. Well, a handful is, not a whole can. I am trying to stay away from them as well now. Yesterday, when I wasn't even trying, I stayed on the low range of my calories. It doesn't even make sense. It's almost like the more I try, the worse I do.

chloianna, I too have been struggling pretty bad lately, and I have my yearly check up with my ob/gyn next month, and last year he told me to lose some weight, I said, oh I'll be down 80 lbs by this time next year, he said oh take it slow, only shoot for about 10 lbs or so. Well I was 242 the last time I went to see him, so even though I have lost 11 lbs recently, it is going to look like a gain to him.

I have decided to take control of this emotional eating. It has gotten crazy, and I am so tired of it. I'm going to tighten my reigns, and get rid of this weight once and for all. Let's make a concious decision right now to no longer surrender to food, you with me? Well, even if things don't go exactly as planned, I'm here for you if you need me.

emoticon big hug, first of all you already know what you need to do, it's just difficult for you to put your plan into action. My mo is a diabetic and now has some very serious health issues. Mom's biggest enemy is herself. When she would go to the doctor, she would be told to loose the weight, and I know she would become bull headed and would feel as if she knew better and didn't like what the doctor would say. So she would continue to eat sweets and things she knew she shouldn't. I am not saying you are like mom, but there comes a time when you need to say enough is enough, and make that change. I know it's difficult, but take it slow. Get rid of one thing from your diet at a time. Pop is a good one because of the sugar and salt within the drink. It has to be your choice to be healthy. I am here if you need me, and so is the rest of the group.

I feel like I am losing as well. I have to go to the doctor this afternoon...diabetic check up. I have gained weight and know he will not be happy. Actually am afraid to go and face him. Am pretty sad about it. I am trying each day and have some good ones and a few bad ones and it seems as if the bad ones outweigh the good ones...no pun intended. I think I have to be more specific about my goals, both short and long term. Please help.

Hang in there everyone has given you some great advise. Make sure that you have some healthy alternative food with you and water to drink. Pairing up with someone is also a great idea. Take care and be strong

Hang in there, it looks like you have already done so good for yourself, don't give up now. You are not losing the battle. The battle is the whole thing. There are several fights that happen everyday within ourselves, and it's o.k. to lose a couple, just be sure your winning more so that you can win the whole battle. You can do this. Do not let that work stress get to you. If you have access at work, jump on here at vent to us. Tell your buddy at work, that you both need to shape up, and quit falling back into old habits, and review your reasons for first coming to spark, the reasons you would like to lose weight, and don't let anything stand in the way. Give us a holler whenever you need us. Welcome to the EE family, glad to have you.

sound like you came to the right place.Sometimes just posting how you feel or all about the issue helps a great deal.Dont ever worry about booring us.That`s what we are here for.Having the break room so close is definitly a hard thing.Can you dhut the door?I use to work at a donight shop and being surounded by sweets is really hard.Hang tough and post whenever you feel like it.

You can stay strong! I believe that you can get through this rough patch. Things always seem to work out! You have vented and alsked for help before you lost control. Congratulations that is such a huge accomplishment. Praise yourself tell your self that you are fantastic. You will succeed with this battle. I know you will. Keep up the great work. look at your ticker look how fantastic a job you have done. You really dont want to sabotage yourself do you?!!

Bring in your own snacks. Team up with the other person there and pack and take a break together and eat what you have brought.
You can do it if you want it bad enough.

I haven't been here before, but I need to be. Things have been crazy with work, lately. I don't want to bore anyone by going into details, but I need encouragement before I gain 10 pounds. It is the kind of thing that sends me straight to the junk food. Unfortunately, my office has a door that opens into the break room where all that junk food lives. There is one person at work that we try to encourage each other and it seems we are both going down the tubes! Help! emoticon
