I started walking a week from this past Saturday. I started with 4 miles and walked that 4x last week. I then walked 2 miles two days last week. I took Friday off because my goal was to walk the 6 mile walk I had mapped out. And I did it. Normally I take one of my small children and push them in the stroller. I didn't this time. I started early in the morning when it was cool and just walked it. I kept track of my time. hwen I'm pusing a stroller with 50lbs, it takes me 20 minutes to walk a mile up and down hills. Saturday without the stroller I managed to walk 4 of the six miles in 15minutes a mile. One hour and 45 minutes for 6 miles, about 18 minutes avg/mile. I'm so proud of myself. My muscles were so sore all day, but it felt great accomplishing that goal. I am going to continue doing the 4 miles at least 4 days a week and a few 2 miles, but I think I will do my 6 mile walk every saturday morning. my time.
