Hello Sam and big hug so glad you are here with us, and second we would never judge you. We are all here to support and help with as much advise and support that we can. You are very brave for shraing with us and that is to be commended, plus you are facing your weight issue head on good for you. Welcome Sam, You sound like you are going through a total life change. WOW! Nobody here will judge you for you past. That was that PAST, now you are on the road to find the real Sam. We are here to help. Start slow, convert the candy's so sugar free and lay off the sodapop. You will se a difference in no time. Beth

Do like I do, take the weight lose real slow, I set mine up for two years, and you can lose the weight and eat more "normal" because losing it slow like that allows for more calories per day. Hope that helps ya. Stefanie
Aye it has been a big journey for me so far. Hopefully I can stay off the drugs that is very important.
The smoking was all down to me and willpower baby, so I know I have some of that. The only thing with food is I do really like it and it is there to cure all problems with me haha. Not too funny I know. I also am a big boy with a big stomach/appetite and I dont like feeling hungry when I am genuinely hungry! So I just have a munch and think "tommorrow I will eat more healthily"
That tommorrow becomes the next day and then the next.......
Welcome to the team Sam. I wish you the very best. You have made some wonderful accomplishments in your life as of recent. Be careful not to expect to much too soon. You are taking on a lot of changes at once, but if you have the determination to quit drugs, and smoking, I have NO doubt that this weight thing will be (pardon the pun) a piece of cake. LOL Theres also a group I belong to called no more smoking (just over a year for me-my 4th quit) if you'd like to check that out. So. I've discovered this site at almost 2am, and it has told me to introduce myself, so here goes!
Hi i'm Sam and I am 23 years old. I live in England. I was born in London and, through certain circumstances, I am now living in Plymouth
I am 6' 3" tall and have a BMI of about 33. So that is clearly no good.
I have been overweight as long as I can remember, apart from about 4 or so years ago. I was heavily into drugs and put myself on a "hardly-eat-at-all diet, just do lots of (illegal) drugs to control the hunger"
I mean, the weight loss was not the reason for doing the drugs, that was just a 'pleasent?' side effect.
At one stage I weighed about 12.5 stone, now I am about 19 stone.
I have only recently put the drugs down, but I know that was very important. I am 6 months sober and have been through Rehab. Please don't judge me for this.
Anyways back to the point I know I eat to fix my feelings, and also when I'm bored. This really has to be controlled if i'm going to slim down.
I have never done exercise properly since school. I think I went to the gym about 6 times in a month about 4 months ago, but that soon stopped!
I have quit smoking, after 14 years, for 6 weeks now. I know this is not a long time, but it is a massive thing for me, now I am going after the weight.
I don't know what I am expecting from all this writing, but I haven't minded writing it, maybe you won't have minded reading it
