Thank you all for your comments. I have "lightened" up a bit. I think the best thought was to treat myself more like a friend. I don't treat my friends badly. I am enjoying my return to SP and it truly is so helpful to have so much exchange of ideas and support. Plus I did lose some weight in the last 10 days :)

I am not losing this fat - I am removing it for good.

I recently feel as if I have awoken from the "dark".
I have NO reason to think or feel negative.
1.) I wake up in the morning - I am ALIVE and HEALTHY
2.) I have everything I could want, although my job is a little less than my goal I HAVE a JOB
3.) It's Winter but soon it'll be Spring
4.) I like to eat, and that is okay, just don't overdo and choose the better options.
5.) My favorite thing to remember is that I rescued my dog from a shelter and SHE is the light of my life - a real sweetheart. On top of good family, a house to live in and good health I have the best dog you'd ever want to meet.
6.) I am also working on TALKING about my life to people (I NEVER shared stuff before), it puts things in perspective and helps you realize it's NOT that bad or THAT uncommon to have feelings of guilt, frustration, boredom - EVERYONE relates - EVERYONE!!!
SO, if I gain, it's okay, I'm determined to lose it. I'm currently maintaining a 3 pound loss, and put it back on, lose it again etc....BUT Spring is coming and I will be jogging again - I can't wait! It keeps me motivated and I'm going to get out there very soon.
I've got 15 pounds to lose to get BACK to my goal weight...I will do it. POSITIVELY!

With depression I had a hard time getting out of bed. I wanted to sleep all the time. So now it's a good day because I can. I try to make of list of what I call wins everyday: something I did that the old me would not have did. It starts with one small thing and most times leads to a bucket full of positives. It takes practice.

i have found that the thing that helps me is to say one positive thing about myself in the morning. Then when I find myself thinking negatively, I stop, rewind and rerecord that thought into something more positive. I have also found that the when I think negatively about someone else, if I stop myself and then find something postive about them or what they are doing, I feel better in general.

You can choose your thoughts like Marty19 said. You exercised---why insult that? Any counts. Maybe you could read some books on training yourself to be more positive. I became more positive thru Christianity(you could pick a different religion if that one isn't for you)--but I chose & choose to believe in it's teachings. Just a quickie example: I believe that bad in my life will work out for ultimate good, so it gives me hope & patience, & I feel like my life matters....change your focus too--what topics you think about...you could find a motivational speaker who encourages you(I like Joyce Meyer, however, she also is Christian but there are tons of these speakers)...don't overlook the possibility of depression either--if those brain chemicals get messed up, you need to go get on a medicine--I've had to do that a few times in my life....try to see humor in things,....add some kind people to your life....keep taking positive actions, sometimes the feelings lag behind the actions, but like you said as you lose weight the positive effects of your actions will have positive effects on your thoughts...you can do this...I know you're tough.

I have been trying to follow Marty19 for a while. I know her from a different team and have not been doing well with it. I do look at motivations and other sections off of SP, but I am not understanding what I am reading.

ONICAM... Where do you find the words? What are the topics of interest? Spark has many motivational phrases that are not negative.
What are you thinking about exactly? Using the suggestion by MARTY19, there ought to be an opposite to every positive word that comes to your mind.
If the word that comes to your mind is "dark," then you know that an opposite word might be "light." forward/backward, in/out, empty/full,...
I don't have lovely, blue eyes. (negative) My brown eyes function and I am able to see in order to read and drive. (positive)
According to your ticker, you have made weightloss progress. Why is that not positive?

How do you come up with the words? The only words that come into my mind are negative ones and I have been trying for months to change them over to positive or to go away and neither one is happening.

I agree with Marty. You exercised when you didn't want to and that is the most important thing.
I find it helps to talk to myself the way I would my best friend. Friends encourage, not berate.

Keep it up. You are doing great.

My sister trained me to seek out the positive. Every time I speak a negative about something, I have to find something positive about it. Now it is becoming second nature. For example - I don't want to exercise. Yipee, I did some exercise and it feels good. The actual number of minutes are not relevant. The fact is you did some exercise when you didn't want too. Don't beat yourself up about the actual minutes. You did something and everything counts. You wouldn't do that to someone else. Show that same kindness to yourself.

I have felt like this off and on. But I really try not over think things. I just keep on exercising. Eating right and I end up losing. A few times I didn't even believe I had lost. It's all part of the journey

loving myself as i am beautiful inside and out!!! Think positive .. you can do it!!!..... i do care.Life is not easy for any of us, but what of that? We must have perseverance and, above all, confidence in ourselves. Don't give up we all can do this!!
Lost 110 pounds so far! i am loving it!
I am now exercising 50 mins a day working up to 60 ! Keeping active is so important!

I have always been having difficulties when it comes to not having negative thinking. Coming up with one positive thing is not an easy task for me and may take hours.

I get depressed from time to time . no one is happy and upbeat all the time . It is hard to at times to allow others in . at times i think it is pre programed into our minds to hide how we feel from others . It is like when you are ill and someone asks you how do you feel today . your reply is usually i am ok or alright . and not admit that we are not 100 percent .some days the darkness overtakes you . takes you to the dark side . and that is not pretty . at times i do not feel like doing what i am supposed to do if i can fight it and force myself to carry on it does get better for that day . glad you are being able to see and gain some insight into your mind and do the things that helps you get better .good luck on your journey you are not alone . you have much company here just reach out .

Quitting negative thinking is tough. When I first started I had to stop in the morning and at night and find 3 positives in my life. It make a difference. I've also heard giving 3 compliments a day improves your mood. Good Luck!

I may have always been more negative than positive but over the past several years the negativity has been stronger. I don't want to be negative. I feel like there is a tug of war going on in my head. For instance, I didn't want to exercise today. Then I did a 10 minute SP video and a 20 minute palates video. I am happy I did it but why do I feel like it wasn't enough? Maybe more success on my weight loss will help me here but has anyone struggled through this to the other side?

I am not losing this fat - I am removing it for good.
