on your new job. I would brown bag it tomorrow, and see what options are available at work. I know it depends on what building I am subbing at because the High Schools have real nice salads, but the middle schools and elementary you have to eat what the kids do and if you have watched Jamie Oliver Revolution you know what that means. When I worked in the Computer Profession it was depending on the day and where we planned to go. You just have to plan and look at what options you have because I know that I can easily include the salads and fresh fruit available in my nutrition plan. All depends on what is available, but at first it will be easier to brown bag financially. I would take water jug to help you get through the day for your water.
I wish you the best of luck on your new job, Good Luck and God Bless.

congratulations on your new job. take your lunch the first week and see if you can make friends within the company. Then you can decide what you want to do. I would pack a healthy lunch, remember to stack it full of veggies and snacks so when you go on break you aren't tempted to eat from the vending machine.

I think you're all right, taking my own lunch is the way to go. I think I'll just take sandwiches as I'll likely not feel like eating anyway (I'm shy). Maybe a book in case I do stay but not find anyone to talk to. Thank you!

Congratulations on your new job! That's super fantastic awesome! :-D I'd start brown-bagging it, and then try to get the atmosphere of your new workplace.

on the new job! I agree to brown bag it! You will have more control and like she said the social aspect of meeting your co-workers. Debbie
The song that has the most meaning to my is I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack. my daughter got me this song when my husband left me. I had just got let go at my job and I was still battling brain cancer and epilepsy . My favorite line is When you get the Choice to sit it out or Dance I Hope You Dance and I been doing my best to dance ever since
Congratulations on the new job! That is nice that you are so close you have the option to come home for lunch. I think that if you wanted to get to know people and you are a social person, I would brown bag it. That way, you know exactly what you are eating, from a nutritional stand point, and you have control of your intake. Makes portion control easier because you can only eat what you brought. If you are more shy and reserved, then maybe start out coming home for lunch until you feel more acclimated to your new job and the work community. Way to go, that is great news and I hope you really enjoy it!
Congratulations on your new job! I'd take a non-perishable lunch with. That way you could go with your new co-workers if you're invited along or join them at the lunch table. If no invitation to join comes you could always just run home for lunch. Have a great first day!

Hi, I just had news that I now have a job and I'm starting tomorrow morning! I'm thrilled I have the job but I'm nervous as I've been sitting around and being rejected from jobs since my last temp one finished in January.
I want to go and celebrate with chocolate. I won't, but I really really want to.
Also, how do I tackle lunch? I'm literally 7-10 mins away from where I'll be working so should I come home to get lunch or stay on site and try meeting new people? But if I stay, shall I bring lunch or get food there, what food?
You can see I'm rambling so I'll stop there and hope you can help with a little of the food anxiety!
