I am new to this team and wanted to first say hi to everyone...HI EVERYONE! I'm Kelly and I eat when I'm bored. It's my worst habit and the most important one for me to break (now that I've quit smoking that is). I had an idea this morning of how to break this particular bad habit.
I'm sure we've all found ourselves standing in front of the refrigerator with the door wide open waiting for the commercials to be over on the TV or coming home and peeking in the cupboard to grab a bedtime snack even though you just ate dinner. Well, I certainly have...and I want to stop! So today, I decided to come up with a list of things to do instead of eating when Iím bored. Here are some of my ideas and Iím hoping you all are able to help me add to the list:
-Water the houseplants
-Drink a glass of icy water
-Work on a crossword puzzle
-Organize the grocery bags (you know, the pile of paper and plastic bags next to the fridge)
-Create individual servings of food for lunches and snacks
-Call your sister/friend
-Post on SparkPeople
-Organize the Tupperware
-Put away music CDs
-Walk around the block
-Read a positive/motivating article
-Plan a hike with a friend
A little smile goes a long way.
