NELLINA,
I have osteoarthritis in my spine and left knee. Some days are better than others, but it severely causes problems with my quality of life. I know that losing weight won't cure my arthritis, but it sure will help it be less painful!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I know exactly how you feel. I have difficulties with moving myself. Some days are good and some days are bad for me. I have a severe case of psoriac arthritis, which is something like rheumatiod arthritis, but comes along with psoriasis. So, some days I can move good, and other days, I have to avoid some activities. Perhaps, losing some of the weight will help both of us out. emoticon

I am new to this program. I have only been in it for two weeks or so. I just came across this group. I am an emoional eater, have been all my life. I am now paying the price. I am overweight and have trouble doing much. I am starting to eat better and doing some exercise which is very difficult for me. I need all the support I can get and feel lucky that I found Sparkpeople. I know I will end up losing the weight that I need to lose but it will be hard.
Thanks to those of you who are in the group. I know you will inspire me to push ahead and continue the program.

I have to eat consciously...so many times in the past I find myself not even thinking about the choices or quantities.

Susan, you have to believe in yourself. I have never been able to lose weight in the past, but I have already lost 10lbs. This is a great program. I also love to eat, everything revolves around food. Food is my reward, my comfort, my friend. It is so hard. I have found that actually watching what I eat keeps me from eating so much. When you put the food into the nutritional planner and see the calories it kinda wakes you up. Just keep your faith you can do this.

CINDERALLA1,
I feel for you, I really do. I'm so sorry that you're struggling. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even trying to diet again... I've always failed in the past -- what's going to be different about this time, you know?

MRSTRAUG: Thanks for your input. It's so easy to feel that I'm all alone, and now it's good to know that I'm not.

irishlaced: you are most definately NOT a freak. Eating is a pleasureable experience for me as well. As I said in a post yesterday, I eat whether I am upset, angry or happy....it's a battle that I will always have, also that I will never understand and that I pray about daily.

Lord, help me to be the person my dogs think I am.....

Eating is such a pleasurable activity. I don't have many friends, and food sort of took up that empty space in my life. I've been doing it for so long, I don't know how else to live my life. Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just a freak?? emoticon
