Sarting day #3 of my program. So far, so good. I still have 2 1/2 weeks before vacation to work on the loss. When I am on Vac, I will be doing the partial food plan. It's really sort of a modified Atkins/ South Beach. You know, low carb. Not no carb like Atkins. This approach is really good for my diabetes.

if it is a sensible eating plan then great, but if it is just another quick fix quick weight loss diet then it won't last. Find a healthy relationship with food and eat a healthy eating plan. good luck.

OK. I went for my appointment this afternoon. It's a great program for me. Shakes, soups and bars. Just what I need to get a start on the loss. Thanks for all your replies. I never really thought I would have surgery, btw.
be wary of surgery. You still have to learn to have a healthy relationship with food. Just cause they make your stomach smaller you can stretch it out again by overeating. There aren't any magic pills. Its hard work and it takes time.

Thanks, everyone. I heard of it fom a friend here at work. There is a doc nearby who does it. I have an appointment on Monday to see what it's all about. She is a bariatric specialist. If I do decide to try it, I will wait till afer vacation in September. I did start today reenergized with my own program, tho. I feel as if I need a jumpstart and maybe this is it.
