Hi Bre, I think you have done really well!
When I was losing, after several months of losing between 1 to 2lbs a week,(Mostly 1lb) I dropped to losing 1/2lb per week. So I changed my strategy. Chanded my diet and my exercise routine because I was afraid of hitting a plateau or gaining. It worked for me!

Thank you all for the boost of encouragement. I'll
try changing a few things and see what happens. I get
it,it takes time. I guess I needed to hear someone say it.

I hate to disagree with some of my friends here, but if there's one thing I've learned from nutrition and fitness experts is that if you hit a plateau you must change up what you are doing. Even if it's just a little tweek. Our bodies are smart...they learn real fast and adapt to what we're doing. They know what to expect if we keep doing the same thing over and over again. You have to trick your body. Don't give it the same old same old...IF YOU HIT A PLATEAU. If you are still losing, by all means keep doing what you're doing.

I do agree about taking body measurements and paying attention on how your clothes are fitting as alternatives to the dreaded scale. The scale is not the be all end all to this journey.

Don't get down on yourself. You're doing fine. We all hit plateaus. Ignore the scale for a bit and trick your body. That's my humble opinion. stevo5o

With workouts, you are building muscle. And that weighs more than fat. Continue with what you are doing. The scale will catch up.

Hey Bre...don't get discouraged...just keep doing what you know you need to do...the weight will come off...probably not as fast as you'd like it to...lol!! I'd like to encourage you to take and record your measurements...that's something I didn't do when I first started and now wish I had...there are a lot of ways to measure your progress, the number on the scale is only one of those ways.

You said that you're "pretty much cutting out the sweets". Try this. The only "sweets" you eat are fruits. Not canned or bottled in light syrup either. Fresh or frozen fruits with NO SUGAR other than their natural sugars. Nothing packaged as a sweet treat...that's a no-no. 5-6 servings a day. Eat your protein source along with the fruits. 5-6 small meals a day. Drink plenty of water too. Keep up the exercise and see what happens. You've just hit a plateau. Change up your diet a little bit and fool your body. Tweek your exercise too...don't keep doing the same thing over and over again. Your body gets used to it and knows what's coming. Also include veggies in your 5-6 small meals. Try it for a couple of weeks. I would add this also though. Make sure it's okayed by your doctor because I don't know your health issues. This is just something I do because it's ok with my doctor. stevo5o

WOW. I would say you are determined and getting rewarded for it. Stay off that scale for awhile! i weighed too much in the beginning and it is roller coaster ride. You are doing everything right and so it will work but we can't predict the ups and downs of water weight, muscle mass and even elimination. Keep it up, it does work. Try to develop a plan you can stay with so you don't burn out. This is a life plan -- for the rest of your life. You are doing so great. emoticon

your muscles are probably swollen from working out so much. maybe try taking a couple of days off and let your muscles rest. we do need a rest even though we feel like we can't not do it for one day. Your muscles do hold water as well. Plus if you are burning that many calories you might not be eating enough calories for your body's energy needs.

I agree with the others who have posted so far. You are doing phenomenally well and try not to be so discouraged that you slip back into old habits. One thing I have read on other message boards is to keep track of your measurements in addition to the weight on the scale. I also agree that you should probably avoid weighing every day) I suspect that with the difference you are feeling in your waist that you have probably dropped some inches on your body that the measurement tape will tell you even if the scale might not.

Keep up the excellent work. You are such a beautiful person. I wish you continued success in your healthy lifestyle journey.

Sounds to me like you're doing all the right things. When someone starts a "lifestyle change" they usually go through the "honeymoon" period in the beginning where they lose a lot of weight. I lost 6 lbs in the first week of my "lifestlye change." Keep up the good work and you'll shed the weight. Don't weigh yourself everyday- once a week is good.
You're doing fantastic!

Good Morning. I have to tell you how proud I am of you. I see you posting and replying to other's posts. You're always so positive and uplifting.
I hope I can do the same for you...I'm new at this too, so all's I can say is maybe muscle weighs more than fat. Maybe you're muscle mass is growing while you are burning the fat...I'll go with that.
Just keep up the good work and drinking your water. It will all work out...
STAY OFF THE SCALE FOR 1 month and then...LET'S

Hi Bre:

WOW Congrats on the 15lb loss, that is PHENOMENAL!!!!

You are probably gaining muscle from exercising which would account for the 2lb gain. Don't give up! Keep working!!!!

and....DON'T FORGET TO CELEBRATE YOUR LOSS THUS FAR!!!!

Well I've been at this lifestyle change 24 days. in the fist 10 days I had a loss of 15. Yeah I know that was fast. I started eating at night again
thinking that as long as I stay within my calorie range it was ok. Then I had a weight gain of 1 pound
so I immediately stop eating at night. Well I continue to drink 8-12 glasses of water a day, work out over 30 minutes daily, pretty much cut the sweets
and I'm measuring what I put into my mouth. I go as far as adding a extra 15/20 to my workout somedays. For instance, yesterday,I worked out 54 minutes burning over 500 calories. Weighed myself today and
I've gained another pound. That's the reason I'm
concerned if I'm doing something wrong or not. I feel different under my arms and around my waist but
the scale is telling a different story.
I dont have a desire to overeat,I am proud of the changes I'm making. I just want validation. Knowing
that my efforts are for not. Am I wrong? If so, emoticon save me from myself.
