I am praying for you. From your post-- it looks like the real issue is losing body fat, not just weight. Do they give you advice on how to do this, like not letting your calories and protein go so low that you lose weight but lose too much muscle? I found Will Brink's ebook, Fat Loss Revealed (www.fatlossrevealed.com) and his included forum with real experts to ask questions of, incredibly helpful when you need to make sure what you lose is fat, not just weight.

YOu have gotten great advice. Break it down. Category by Category. Start with one and work on it and the others will fall in line. Running will be the hardest. Start there! Every time you want to quit just think of your commander in chief yelling at you in the back ground to move it. So get up and MOVE IT! Talk to the gym staff, maybe they can help you with a routine. Use the food tracker and be honest about what you say you ate Buy a food scale and use it. Buy any diet book out there that tells you how much you should be eating (weight watchers has great ones) and most of all, good luck.
We need dedicated soldiers and it always bothered me that weight was such a factor. They add fitness to our annual appraisals right before I retired... while I understand the point, I'm glad I got out before I had an appraisal that had fitness on it... I would have gotten a bad rating because of my serious medical problem. I wasn't a bad Airman or even an overweight Airman,I was just a broke Airmen who couldn't do the fitness test the way the Air Force wanted me to.

Tate-Nadeau, you absolutely can do this. You have 6 weeks and make every day count. I loosely make a menu then go grocery shopping so that I have fresh fruits and vegetables, hummus, low fat cheeses etc for a quick snack and to make a meal. Logging in to SP helps so much. Read! Read! Read! all of the motivational stuff.
I know that you can do this. Just focus and know that you have a whole community of support that is routing for you. Results don't happen overnight, but if you stick with it, the pounds will start to come off. Don't forget the exercise! I guess you are already into that, but I would keep trying to beat my last time/distance, little by little.
You are our challenge now! We're going to look for your posts to keep us up with how you are doing. Do not hesitate to ask for support. There are members with lots of different experiences and different ideas. USE THEM!

Will defintely pray for you. I'd try to break it down into small goals. See how long it takes to run the 2 miles now and then each week do it a little faster. Same with the push ups and situps. This is doable and you WILL make it!! Don't give up on yourself! I bet if you focus on the running and other things you need to do, and log everything you are eating so that you stay in your calorie range, the weight will come off without much thought. You will do it!

You can do it! My son is a Marine and had the same problem. He worked out and logged his calories and made his weight. You have a career that has had harder times than this. Be tough. Be strong. Do what you need to do.

Need your prayers and support. I am a Colonel in the Army but my weight has balloned out of control. In the Army we have to be within a certain height and weight and if we exceed it we get a chance to exceed that weight if we are taped. My max is 36 percent body fat and I am at 36 percent body fat. I have 6 weeks to get my weight down and be able to run two miles in 19min 40 push ups in 2 min and 80 sit ups in 2 min. Please pray for me
