We all like to weight the least we can. It is just a mind thing. Honey...do what you have to do...to make it right in your head.....but remember...it is only a number...and you are so much more than that.

Definitely use the scale as only 1 way of measuring your success! Go by how you feel, how much more energy you have, how loose your clothes are, etc. There is certainly more than 1 way to look at your success!!

The scale is a very frustrating piece of equipment. No getting around it.

There are two options regarding committment - your either IN or your OUT. There is no such thing as life in-between.

A person who doesn't will find an excuse...
I go by my doctors scales. There is a 5 pounds difference between the Dr. scales and mine. So, I put 5 pounds on my scales at home.

I wouldn't waste the money on a new scale. Scales are only one tool. Body measurements, the way your clothes fit and the way you feel are just as important if not more.
Hey dont let he scales rule you or get you upset. I know they all differ and you just have to go y theone you have at home cause thats the one you started with.. i pay more attention to how clothes feel then how much i weigh.. do dfont get upset just do what your doing

Jani, You know it's really just psychological but if it helps you.....go buy those new scales. There's nothing wrong with giving yourself a treat or using that as motivation.

Lisa, those body fat scales are notoriously unreliable at figuring your percent body fat.
At the YMCA they offer us members free body fat percentage testing with a little machine. I don't know if it is much more reliable than those scales though-- my understanding is that using calipers and calculations are more reliable, and underwater testing at a hospital is the most reliable.
I weighed 193 pounds and mine came out to be 37.9% earlier this month on the YMCA's tester. I do work out and lift weights-- but I still would guess that either your bodyfat percentage, or mine, or both-- had some error in there.

I just bought myself a new scale for Christmas and it said I'm 2lbs lighter than my old scale and I'm HAPPY with it!! I only wish today was weigh-in day!
Unfortuantely, it also says that over 37% of me is fat...that's a lot of fat.
If new scales make you feel better-go for it!!
Just choose 1 scale as your guide-don't get thrown by others. But a 7 lb loss is a nice Xmas gift!
My Dr.'s Scale is 10#'s less than at the gym. I don't trust any of them. I go by my rings bieng loser my close the way they fit, and i've lsot inches and inches. Don't get so discouraged aobut the scale they all lie.
i want to get one for my home.

So, today I went to our local hospital's fitness center and worked out for 45 minutes. My eight-year-old daughter was with me.
When we were done, she stepped on the Professional Health Scales in the hospital changing room there and said, "Why don't you weigh yourself, Mom?"
I thought, why not?
So I stepped on the scales and it showed me as being seven pounds LIGHTER than my scales at home. Even though I had all my clothes and shoes on, and it was late afternoon.
Tonight, my daughter stepped on our home scales, and it showed her as weighing seven pounds heavier than the hospital scales.
My husband says it's a mute point, because the scales here still record my weight-loss, no matter if they are accurate or not. I know he's right, but . . . .
So how come I so want to go and buy a new set of scales?
