I'd be glad to answer any questions you have. As for me my teacher gave me the list of foods,( like I posted on the menu forum) and I just picked from that and cooked the way I knew how. So mostly ate stir fries. After eating that way for about 14 years, I am just now trying to learn more of how to get a great balance and what foods to combine with others So in the beginning it is ok to eat some of the ways you do, just pick the your foods from the list. And try to make sure you have having 1 or 2 bowls of miso soup a day. Brown rice for most meals, and leafy greens 3 to 5 times a week. But other wise enjoy and let the diet help make you stronger.
To be honest, I haven't decided yet. I have a lot of auto-immune problems, and the additional weight is causing more. I am learning about the connections between what we eat and how we feel, and I am learning all I can about nutrition and eating plans. I've heard about macrobiotic eating and am hoping to learn more from all of you.
I was very sick and had never heard of this way of cooking. But I had a man that helped me learn through phone calls. It made a big difference in my healthy. I started being able to walk smoother and with out my cane. I also noticed the spasms and shakes go. And was able to start sleeping through the nights, the pain was getting better and I could lay down for the 8 hours. I was up in the night at least once or twice because of pain level was so high.
It took me several months to reap all the good. But was seeing many small improvements as I went. I also had renods, where my feet and ankles were a deep purple, They thought about putting me on some medicine for it but it lowered BP. And I was already 90/50 so they couldn't treat me. I did ginger compresses...YOUCH. it felt like needles coming out of my toes. But since that time I haven't had that same discoloration. I asked my teacher and he said if I could see what was coming out it would look like small splinters of glass. But that is was dissolved in the hot wet compress. So I believe strongly in Macro diet. So I give it a gold star. It's not always easy but it does work.
