I read one blog today about sinking into the flab. It was really good. Made me think what is keeping me from my goals. Some is just being so busy, so I need to try to make time for me. Set up a planned time for my food and my exercise.

Life has been really busy. We got the two bedroom floors done, they are great. Got to bathrooms done, ran into some problems... really glad we did them even though I was going to hold up on the one.
But now we are sorting every thing before it goes back into the rooms... Well the spare room looks like a storage shed with stuff every where and some of it has over flowed to the front two rooms. So Today I am working on sorting for 2 hours, have to run help daughter with 2 kids at a parade and then back to paint a side of the house then back to sorting. Oh ya I get to run another big load to the good will. emoticon Got to go see what else I can put into that load.
It is suppose to be a beautiful day here... in the 70s or maybe 80s ya
Have a great weekend.

me too!!!!! (about getting back on track) emoticon
I am trying to set up soups but with the heavy push i have been doing I am so tired that I am drinking a lot of coffee just to get through. As well as grabbing a nut cluster for energy in the afternoons and evening.
We may have to run another marathon again soon. But I will be traveling some for the next 2 weekends.

I have been making healthy choices for my main meals, then grabbing less-optimal choices for snacks. I have to get back on track!!!!!

Thanks for the spark goodie.

Well I am very tired... Didn't eat as good as I should but got a lot done. I washed all the base board that I had tore out of the bedroom and bathroom, and then put a new polish and got them ready to be nailed back down.
Sorted through my dresser, tried it all on and took out a large bag of items for good will.
Did grocery shopping, and getting repair items.
And helped reset the toilet.
Also managed to get a little bit cleaned in the kitchen after making supper

Off to bed.

I liked this quote from Spark People Healthy Reflections.

Great reminder to run your own race. Today my race is going to be cleaning down base boards and getting the stuff back in our room. ( hopefully only half of it after it is sorted.)
I had a call saying i am going to be observed for about 6 to 8 hours on Tue. SO i have to have every thing up and running well.

Hi I have been gone for a long weekend of fishing tournaments, then working and pulling up flooring at night all week.

I am having a hard time not eating to many nuts. I find I grab a handful and it helps me keep going.
I was really bad the other night was craving choc so bad so I got a few from the good food store. Good thing I only got a small bunch because I ate them all.

Can't wait to get a good nights sleep. I think that will help me get back on track.

Sorry I haven't been doing very good at checking in or setting up posts. I have had a very busy summer with school age as well as babies in day care, and then fishing tournament with my husband and daughter on weekend.

But it is hard to believe next week is the beginning of Sept. I am looking forward to a slower schedule in day care, but will be picking up a bunch of classes. I can't believe it is fall already.
Hope you all have a beautiful weekend.Kathy

Good afternoon. Happy Sunday. Miss hearing from most of you It seems to be a busy summer, with older kids in Day care. Also need to gear up for about 60 house of training as I am one of 20 chose for the stars program.

But eating healthy seems to be giving me a clear non foggy thinking. I am exploring a few new foods. I had turnip green yesterday. They were good. I didn't season just steamed them. I also got some sorrel... didn't realize it was seldom use.

I have lost about 5 pounds in this past month but eating pretty strict.

hope all are doing great.

Today was a harder day. I think some of it was just discharges, as I droped another pound to day.

Kombu is kind of hard to take, you might like wakame instead. It has a better flavor and finer texture. I also like to make rice balls filled with veggies and covered with strips of toasted nori. It tastes the same as nori rolls, but they are a whole lot easier to make.

Thanks, last night I woke up several times. I had a lot of pain through my neck back and shoulders. It was like after a P.T. visit or chiropractor. So i think my muscles must be changing some.

I also noticed that the popping from the tinnitus was almost gone in my lf ear. But this am it started up again. That has been the quietest that ear has been in 4 or 5 years.

I will look for some sea weed recipes tonight. My family is taking off today and I have the house to myself. I liked the one that just put a small piece in the rice. It was only and inch of Kombu but it was good.

This book cooks more in moderation than what I was taught, just moderate amounts of salt.

Have a good day

Does anyone know of some recipes using sea vegetables? Say, as an adjunct to other foods, a seasoning? I've been shaking dulse flakes on vegetables, but I want to expand a little. I've tried kombu to cook beans, but I found it really unappetizing. It smelled like dirty socks. Any ideas?

Last night i crashed hard but woke up for about an hour in the night. I noticed that my ears weren't popping as much ( tinnitus)
It used to pop 60 to 100 times a min and last night it was around 26 to 30 times.

I was also down a pound from the beginning of the week.

Eating strict is hard but it looks like my body is starting to come around. I love my new book. emoticon This week end while the gang is gone I hope to sit and read a bunch. My husband says I need to sit and not do house work or other projects as my ankle is still acting up. But seems to be getting a little stronger.
I Have had Dr. say it was tendonitis, and other said planters Faciitis, and the therapist said he thought it was the ligaments. SO he said put it in a splint and see if that will help. I mostly have problems going down stairs. I step wrong and it shoots burning pain through the ankle and up the leg. SO if it doesn't get better soon I will look at the diet for the feet problems.

I got the book "The Macrobiotic path to total health" By Michio Kushi and Alex Jack.
I have done diet therapy for many years but left it up to the one who taught me to help me figure out how to adjust the diet to help with the many health problems I had. Even he was stumped many times, because my body just wasn't cooperating. I did get much stronger but then would come crashing back down.

I love this book. It has 3 1/2 pages of conditions and disorders and then the diet to go with them.
I think my problem was that I was being taught the diet for my body being to Yin and then I switched and I needed to go more with The diet for more yang and yin conditions.
It is a 500 page book. So it is taken me a while to go through. But so far I have found so much helpful info. I have tried several times to go strict and find I was putting my self in terrible pain and then give up and just kind of half way work the diet.
So far I have been eating more strict for 10 days, but just one day on the new one I am trying and having a mod amount of salt. The Physical therapist and Chiropractor have noticed a big change in my muscles and responses as they work on me.

My garden is doing very poorly this year, I wish I could be getting the food from there. But went to the farmers market and it had wonderful fresh veggies. Ya

I am so excited I found more info to tighten my diet down the way my body needs it. I tried to go really strict before but think my body went the other way and caused more problems. I found for dizziness, and tinnitis i need to eat a Diet #3 for more Yang and Yin conditions and disorders. It recommends very strict no flour products, meats, nuts, and a few other things, for over a month. Not easy but if I can clear those up it would be well worth it.
I can't wait to read more and find the loss of coordination, nerve problems, and headaches. emoticon

We had meat, but everything else was from the garden. Oh, there were some nightshades, but I think that is OK if it grows as a weed in my own garden.

How did you all do with the celebration of the 4th?

I went up to a big pot luck. It was fun, I took a big pot of corn on the cob, that I could enjoy with every one. And I took my rice, carrot & C top recipe I posted on lunch meals. It was good flavor, and chewing it for my 50 times made it easy to not have all the rich creamy sugary salads and deserts that was there. emoticon Kathy

Saturday was a harder day. I am the only one that eats macro in our family, so unless I plan ahead it is had to stay strict. We did shopping in am... I had started out with fresh rice, but then didn't get home till after 2:30. I was starving and wanted something to eat. They had ice cream smoothies, then daughter decided she didn't want hers so I tried a few sips. I paid all night with a lot of pain in neck and shoulder area.

So now I am up at 4 am after laying there for an hour. I am beating myself up for cheating emoticon Why is it so hard to be strict? I know the cost is high if I cheat.

So for today I will try to pick myself up and eat stricter. And if I cheat, cheat with some fruit... not garbage. emoticon

Oh I hope I didn't make it so others can't find it. I had searched many times for a macro site and didn't come up with any even though the hip chicks had the one site during the time. I wonder what I can do differently. Maybe I will see about a information board to post it there. Thanks for the heads up on that.
Sorry it was hard to get here, But I sure am glad you are here. I am not so lonely now. emoticon

I have looked at spark people teams for a macro site, but I didn't find one till about a month ago. By time I found it, it was dead. So I have started a new site hoping to find others who also enjoy eating macro.
I am still learning. I had a great guy teach me the basics but now I want to know more. How to make myself even stronger. Just got a new book "the macrobiotic path to total health." it is wonderful.
