Firecom - I am sorry to read what the doctor's think - but doctors have been wrong before. 45 years ago, three different doctors told my uncle that he would be paralyzed due to spine deterioration, and he would be lucky to see 60. He will be 91 in April and is still walking under his own power, though slowly. The doctors are often wrong. That is why they call it "practicing" medicine!

I hope your January PET gives better news than all are expecting. Keep up the fight and the good attitude. And enjoy the Arizona sunshine. Our weather is beautiful this time of year.

I would like to see this team revitalized. I am going through chemo right now for the very aggressive Large B cell lymphoma. I started with R CHOP but after three doses, it was determined even though the cancer cell count was very low, the two major lymph nodes that are involved was not shrinking. The switched to GEM/OX WITH RITUXIN. their hope is to achieve a stable condition but they have told me that it is TERMINAL.

I will have another PET scan in mid January and we shall see from there.

I was told that my expected time line was ;

worst case - 3 to 6 months

best case - 1 to 2 years.

A bone marrow transplant would go a long way to remission, but at 78, I am not a candidate.

I'm glad to see people here. My mom died from lymphoma, so this team has special meaning for me. Let's see how many points we can get for LLS!

I didn't realize this team was here until I started picking teams to donate points to! I have participated in two Team in Training half marathons to raise money for LLS (my first was in 2010 and then again in 2011).

I'm thinking about doing another half-marathon with TNT. My husband says absolutely yes, sign up (because when I trained with them, I was consistent and, though I didn't lose weight, I got healthier). I'm a little nervous about raising the $2,900 and about how slow I am (I walk the races). I feel like I have slowed down even since my races in 2010 and 2011 and I was never a fast walker even then!

In any case, I am a personal injury attorney in KY who was a (very skilled) couch potato. But then I started dating (and later married) my husband who is anything but a couch potato. I have four active kids and want to get healthy enough to know that I can be more active with them and hubby. I struggle with exercise.

We kind of post when something is going on - if someone needs support of has a crisis. It has been pretty quiet lately. If you post an intro, I am sure others will come along and post.

Welcome to the team! I am Nancy. My husband had Burkitt Lymphoma. He is now 2 years cancer free after a rigorous nearly three months of inpatient chemo. He still has a few issues and is not back 100%, but I still have him and I'll take it!

I am new here - is there any interest in revitalizing the team?
