OK, the headline might make you smile - however this is serious. Just a short run (JASR) is an event in a Pittsburgh suburb with a 5k, 8mile, half marathon and 30k distance (18 miles) where the proceeds of the event goes to the Leukemia and lymphoma society (no fundraising required).
In 2010 12 Sparkers met at the event and had a great time. It took on a life of its own and in 2011 when about 50 Sparkers (and some spouses) came to the event and particpated in all the distances, and even better everyone had a blast.
We are planning to return in full force next year, so if you want to walk or run one of the distances check out www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_individ
and join the conversations.
The event will be the last weekend in March. This year we were honored by a visit (and participation) of Coaches Nancy and Nicole (they are lots of fun). The event is conducive for both walking and running, and if you are planning a half marathon in the spring, this may be a perfect event for you. If you just want to have a fun weekend ... this will be the place to be.
