If the floor is like a basketball court then it is ok. You want the floor to give a little, you don't want it to be concrete, or your shins will hurt. Good luck and WELCOME!

Hi all! I'm new to jump roping and chose this method of exercising for rapid caloric burning, but can someone please tell me if a gym floor is a safe surface for jump roping? I would prefer doing it at home on a carpeted surface, but there's insufficient space.
Have a great jump-roping day!!!
