Hello team, went out and got my jump rope today. Really did not think I could do any jumps. My goal is to try jumping everyday and work my way up as I lose the weight. I was surprised I did 3 jumps. Tammy

Thank you all for coming to my page I need the encouragement, so I need alot of friends. so lets encourage each other and hang in there!

I'm having an awful day...not with food, but just emotionally. DS was terrible today in school (I home school, and he is testing his limits, I guess). Then, I got a ticket this afternoon. I HONESTLY thought the speed limit was 45 mph, but it was a 35 mph...I got a $128.75 ticket. I've already told my husband. Good news, he's not mad. He KNOWS I don't speed. I NEVER speed. I am neurotic about not speeding since I became a mother. I have kids whose lives depend on me. Anyway, I am sick at my stomach, definitely don't want to eat...just wanna cry. It's just been a terrible day.

HELLO NEW TEAM LEADER, DEMOSS! I have been in and out of the jumping team for about a year. I have to admit though, I haven't jumped in awhile. Just have to get 'restarted' somehow. Today I made a promise to myself that I would jump at least 5 minutes. It did really help me when I was jumping on a regular basis. Connie

Good job! I know the Marine thing. My ex-husband was a Marine. I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. I was there from 1990--1993.

I had a little wine...my weakness. Just 4 oz. and did good with dinner. I sent the husband and daughter to the pizza place and told them NOT to bring me anything!!

Good for you. I hope your evening went as you had hoped.

My husband is a Marine, and we sometimes have "mandatory fun". You know the drill...you're invited to a function and asked to RSVP...but EXPECTED to attend. The worst part about this one is that it was a spouses' function, so spouses only. I don't know anyone at this thing, so it was BORING. Plus, DH's boss was there and had a "talk" with the wives. It took him about an hour to say 10 minutes worth of stuff. Ugh! Anyway...it's over now. I did OK. I did have a small piece of cheesecake...my greatest weakness. But considering the amount of food there, I think I did OK.

DH had duty last night, so it's always a challenge eating healthy when I just have kids to cook for. I was wanting junk, so instead made myself a HOME MADE pizza. All the flavor of junk food with none of the guilt. Just 300 calories. I have a function to go to tonight and there will be nothing but junk there to eat. I guess I will have to eat before I go too...hope I can resist...

Ugg. I was HOPING you wouldn't notice I hadn't commented on the challenge...I guess you got me. Alright, I will join you. *SIGH* My weight has crept back up about 5 pounds this summer, and I know it's because I haven't been exercising as consistently, and making some bad food choices. I'm going to check out the website you recommended. Thanks! Catch you later.

Hello Bear!! The best way to get started it so just jump up and down. Add the hop if you need to. You need to build up our endurance. Start by doing this for the first week working yourself up to 5 minutes.

There is a good website to go to...google Hyperformance Jumping A-Z. It had good tips on building endurance and form.

Keep jumping! Are you in on my NO JUNK FOOD challenge? If so just post daily so we can keep each other motivated! I will have a weekly challenge on Friday!!

emoticon Good luck!!

Hi Michelle. I just joined this team last week, but haven't been able to do much since the heat index here has been around 120 degrees, and I can't jump inside the house. But I am eager to get started. I posted a general question in this forum but never got any replies. Maybe you can help me. I only know two jumping techniques...the double hop and the running/jogging hop. I read an article that said to jump rope successfully, you need to change your technique every 30 seconds. Th article talked about a dozen or so different jumping styles, but unfortunately there were no pictures. Can you offer any guidance as to where I might find some good pictures or explanations of the different techniques. I know I won't be any good at this if I don't learn at least a few more jumping styles so my muscles don't wear out as quickly and I can get more jumps in before having to quit. Any help would be really appreciated. BTW...welcome as the new team leader...thanks for taking on the responsibility.
