Been practicing jumprope for several years now. But I'm quite new to the this chat group. It's been my favorite exercise since it picked up. Buddy Lee is my favorite of all time. He has done a lot to commercialize jumprope training http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoQ7yPwmK8s
. I like it for the variety of movements. It quickly wears me out because it requires fast aerobic workout. I have posted some armature recordings of myself jumping on my facebook. I learned everything so far by practicing youtube videos, Sparkpeople, and some DVD's I purchased. I'll accept friends ships from members of this group find me by using my name John S Watson and college I graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT).
I've been on sparkpeople since 2008 and mostly used it to learn and organize exercise routines. I started while attending WIT for an engineering degree. I graduated in 2011. While living in Boston I also participated in a running group and aerobice group. The informal running group that leaves out of the city sports on the east BU campus and the exercis ministry of Morning Star Baptist Church. Prior to sparkpeople I did exercise for fun but lacked in practicing organized exercise routines that progressively challenged me. You can also friend me on my sparkpeople page WATSONJ31.

I had a brain injury some years ago. I've had to relearn to walk, to talk, to swallow, all my motor skills, .... I remember when walking on uneven surfaces such as a flat grassy area was a big challenge for me. I'm drawn to exercising my balance and agility. I got into rope jumping not just because it can be a virtually free anaerobic activity, rather because of the proprioceptive aspect of it: the eye-hand-and feet coordination. Blindfolded rope jumping was crazy good and fun. My balance and strength have returned and I guess I've just kept going well beyond from where I was before I had the brain insult. It's wonderful that proprioception can be learned and strengthened.

That make me curious if there's a guy who actively doing hula hoop and still make it macho :D

Has anyone feel that you get more coordinate with your arms-legs-eyes after consistently jump rope? I think I trip less when I walk :D

The boxers probably had some difficulties like in the anime youtube when they first started but I don't think they will show us that LOL

One more goal in life - to jump as smoothly like the boxers and no tripping nor rope smack painfully at any part of the body!

Wow, those jumpers, they moved from jumping to non-jump, so synchronize with each other, so fluidly! Kinda reminds me of synchronize swimmers :D My favourite is Double Dutch Speed Rope, the ropes and their feet are like the superhero Flash, so fast!

But there's one funny comment about the video, "i tried doing this but i strangeld my cat", how did that happen with the cat LOL

Great vid! They make it look so effortless and easy!... I want to try double jumps! And fancy rope moves hahaha... From looking at the ropes, I think I may have cut my jump rope down a little short, and may be why I catch it so often when not concentrating...Maybe I need some more length.

One of my reasons to have longer endurance with jumping rope is when I see boxers do jump rope with steady pace :D I wonder why we always see boxers do training with jump rope, perhaps something about coordination with upper/lower body and agility.

Thanks for sharing the video with us :D
Wow, I love how they jump rope, their ropes like peek-a-boo, nearly invisible, and their footwork are awesome!

At first I had problem with the link so in case anyone else had same problem, try this link:
