I haven't jumped all summer because of heat (no air conditioner) but I think I remember Jumping to some Donna Summer tunes last spring. Fun!

I jump over my lunch break, and a local radio station does fast-paced remixes of songs 12-1 so I just jump to that. I'd love to put together a playlist, but I jump rope in my kitchen (lol- it's the only place with a hard floor and lots of space). I don't have speakers in the kitchen to hook my iPhone up to so the radio will have to do.
Hi guys, I just joined this group, after having watched the 10-minute Jump Rope Cardio Workout. I will try to do it tonight after i get home :) Then I saw this post, and thought I'd recommend the song "Jump" by Van Halen! lol Maybe that would be a cool song to jump to. Not sure about the beats per minute though. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e-vgQSqNtA

Go for it! I started slowly and ooooh, yeeesss! I stumbled and stopped and took a breath, but I finally succeeded last Friday at acheiving 1000 jumps and this morning I did 1100. I just added a few everyday. And at first, it was my feet that got cramps and it all went away. You can do this. Step by step. Good luck!
Hello all. I hope everyone is doing good. It's pretty cold outside, so doing exercising for the inside is great. I haven't been jumping rope very much. I need to try to get back into this. I will try to get in 20 jumps tonight. Wish me luck.

Hello and welcome to the team. Here is a message from someone else on the team, I found it for you. I hope it helps.
Ropesport is the name of a company that puts out jumping rope exercise dvd's. I purchased mine on ebay because you can get it for $3 plus 7$ shipping. The dvd's come in basic, intermediate, advanced and extreme. If you go on their website www.ropesport.com you can see a piece of each dvd to see what is best for you. I went with the intermediate.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming WOW! What a ride !!!"
Hi, I so new to rope jumping (as an adult) that listening to music is the last thing I want to do!! Honestly.. just trying to get the rope not to whack me in the shins, or constantly starting and stopping is my goal for now..maybe when I get good at it I'll consider music. Right now..it'll only be a distraction for me...guess what I really need to do is practise.practise,practise.
Good luck with jumping!!! Didi

Hey everyone, I just joined the group. I got inspired today by a movie I saw to start jump roping - I plan on buying a jump rope tomorrow. I was looking at websites about jump roping and one of them recommended listening to music with 120 to 135 beats per minute while jumping.
That got me to thinking, what types (or specific songs) do you listen to while jumping rope?
