I started jumping for the challenge. People think its so easy but it is very challenging at first. Its a great way to add variety is becoming a favorite of mine. I also jump to show the negative people that I can succeed and they can not stick a lable on me or anyone else because they do not look perfect. What is perfect anyways? Perfect is being who you are on the inside and out. Everytime I jump its like I am jumping over all the shallow remarks I hear about me and others. Its very empowering....and I always end my workout with a smile and power boost:) Jumping is amazing!!!

One more reason for me to jump is for my family, especially my two nieces (6 and 3 y.o.). They seems to get into the fun of jumping, yay! And I want my elder brother to start jumping for his fitness, something new for him to do as he hasn't done anything much now.

I started jumping because of the great cardio. But I'm continuing to jump for the challenge of improvement and because it's a quick cardio booster. I have something to challenge my teens with now. he he he

And I want to add that when I started, 60 a day seemed so hard! But that count has grown exponentially and I can't wait to see what a couple more months of jumping will do for my stamina!

My little girl inside is just now beginning to giggle when jumping. She only groooaaaaned in the beginning. :)

RUNNINGSLOW, that's sound a good thing to try for tripless jump, hehe. I've never seen a rope-less jump rope, somehow I imagine it looks like the starwars laser thingy, hehe. Anyhow, I hope you will start jump with a rope one day, the tripping is just a small obstacles to get better jumps :D

Me, too! I love jumping because of my moments when I was a kid (thanks to auntie who gave me my 1st rope!) and the best cardio ever for me!

Part of it is the memory of how much I loved jumping rope when I was a kid. Part of it is that it's such good cardio. Part of it is getting outside in the nice weather. Fortunately, the weather is getting nice again.

I laugh a lot when I jump with my brother coz he always has this silly face, especially when I challenge him to try different jump styles, hehe. If you love BodyRock, you will embrace jump rope as both in same category - challenging, intense, lots of sweat and burn!

Jumping rope makes me both laugh and cry. Laugh for how silly and easily I can slip up, and cry when I do slip up and hurt myself. I want to get better and be able to endure skipping better and easier.

DEB4JUNE, you're impressive and inspiring jumper to the team, AWESOME!

DECEMBER2711 - have you tried to strengthen your muscles with strength training, might can help more with your jumping endurance. And how about you try alternating your jumping workouts, say the normal workout that you do on one day and next day, do intervals. It also helps to have rest day(s) to recover. By the way, do you do 1500 jumps non-stop in 45 mins?

I am a jumper from WAAAAAY back! I was always jumping around as a little girl...jumping on the floor, jumping on the bed...I always felt happy when I would jump. Fast forward to adulthood...I still love to jump. I get into the zone and get lost in the music and varying my speed and steps. It's a fantastic workout and great for your entire body and mind!

I have been a Group Fitness Instructor for 23 years, certified by ACE for 20. I have taught many class formats over the years. About 4 years ago, I started training to be able to teach a jump rope workout class. I kept increasing my duration, varying my foot work. I began to teach the class 2 years ago. I teach it 2 days a week, at 5 AM! We warm up and then jump continuously for 40 minutes. People can slow down if they want to, or stop for water...then just join back in. We stretch afterward. When we began 2 years ago, people who are considered very fit by all standards, struggled! Now, they are experts! The right rope and length is key. I went to a Buddy Lee Jump Rope Training Workshop and bought his speed rope...one of the best fitness investments I've ever made.

My personal best is 1 hour of non-stop speed jumping. And for those that think only little kids can jump, think again. I am 55 years old...it's great for EVERYONE! So, keep jumping!

Well... other than spiders making me jump, I jump rope because it is good cardio and I feel like a kid. Remember when riding our bikes and roller skating were fun activities and we did not call it "working out"? That's what I am trying to achieve again. I still am not very good at jumping rope but I am trying. I need to get a new rope. I bought a short one (for my dog... yes, I am *that* kind of pet mom) but it is too short. I am 5'2". I used my husband's. He is 6'4" so his trips me up. I also need to get a GOOD sports bra or some duct tape!

I jump mainly because its great exercise. Its also fun and challenging to learn new tricks with the rope. The latest thing Ive tried is skipping while on a trampoline! Its so much fun and you can easily get 3-4 rounds per jump... Arms get tired faster than the legs this way!

Let me tell you a story...bought a jump rope, being 5'0 it was obvious that they don't make jump ropes for my stature...hubby said he could fix it for me....which resulted in a 2" gaping gash in his finger and 5 stitches...need less to say I am looking for a jump rope that is adjustable..hehe haven't started jumping...yet!
But I go to CURVES and do the motion while on recovery board. I want to jump on those days I am too tired to run or when time is short!

Like others, jumping rope makes me feel like a kid, but it's a lot harder! I also enjoy the fact that it burns calories like crazy, more than running even!

I've tried jump rope on mini tram before. But I wasn't very good with the jump rope then. It was also difficult to set up because I didn't have the space so I didn't continue the experiment. Then I had to move and got rid of the mini tram. The woman bought it for her kid, lol. I don't want to steal a mini tram off some kid for the ultimate low impact jumping rope.

And 10 minutes for a kick a$$ cardio is beyond excellent!

Interval jump rope with strength training sounds great but I haven't tried it yet. I did try mix cardio with jump rope, elliptical and jumping jack - end of workout I sweated like crazy, haha.

I always admired those people who are so dedicated with their jumping, even ascending to the higher level of jumping skills - thanks to YouTube, can see lots of variation new jumps!

I love to jump rope as it's one of activities that can make me laugh even if I make mistakes - accidently fell while running and see if you be burning with embrassement or laughing, hehe. And just for few minutes per day compared to most of other cardio exercises, I can feel the burn for long time!

So, what makes you jump? Tell us your stories emoticon
