I'm starting to do 2 sets of jumping rope, usually the first set is 80x and second is 60x. Both in 1 minutes and I want to improve this!

I tried the cross arms jumping yesterday:)

Couldn't get over 3 jumps. That was bad. Anyone here has good learning techniques for that?

I think I've improve my jumping rope. Last time, I did 30-rest-30 in 1 minute and stop jumping. Now, I'm able to do 80-rest-80 in 2 minutes!

jump rope is awesome and it works. and its great to see how the count increases as your strength increases

if you have a counter with your rope i would suggest keeping a count of jumps per minute. Its fun to see how gradually the rate increases

Hi All, I bought a jump rope with count on it. Wow is this ever hard. I jumped 100 and so out of breath. Does this make anyone else out of breath ? I hope too lose more inches. Great motivation on this site..Terri

I completed 275 jumping ropes today in between my stationary bike workout. It felt GREAT!

Hi, I'm a new sparker and I set a goal to jump rope 6 days a week. I'm starting with 100 jumps a day - that's a lot for me, at my current weight. Once I'm consistent with that, I hope to go from there (more jumps/more time).

I wish I had found this earlier, I've thought about looking, but never did it.

Using my gymboss timer, my intervals today were 20 sec. resting/ 90 sec. jumping for 37 minutes = 4078 jumps according to my pedometer (it counts about 116 jumps per my 100 jumps, so I do the math).

I have a question about the challenge.

Are we counting how many jumps we do in a day, or must they be consecutive jumps?? I would like to join, but I jump for time intervals, with a rest interval incorporated after each jumping interval.

I just got back into this, in hopes of upping my endurance for dance classes.

I do about 100 jumps a minute.
Sunday incorporated 5 x 100 spread out over a 30-minute walk.

I have been jumping rope 3 times a week and getting pretty good at it. I do about 10 minutes a run and try to go pretty quickly. I do not know how people can keep track of the number of jumps - that is too much math for me during a workout. Does anyone use a jump rope with a counter? Do you recomend it?

What I'm doing now is just listening to an ipod while I jump. I just do it for two songs and I plan to add more as I get better at it. I don't count anything... I just jump and try to keep going.

Just starting out so I'll be slow and steady - with a goal of working up to 10 minutes of straight jumping rope. Once I do that, I'd like to work on speed, type of jumps, etc...

It will probably take me some time to get there. I usually do low impact exercises so when I did this in a Y class for too long it was too much; I'll be doing what I can safely.

How do you figure your jump speed? Do you count them all or just count what you can get done in a minute then multiply by the minutes done?

Is there anyplace (maybe YouTube?) to learn techniques? Would like to improve my style once I get my cardio better for jumping rope.

Is anyone doing Coach Nicole's jumproping video?

Hi All,

My trainer just incorporated jumping rope into my workout, have not worked out with a trainer in over 3 years, the first day I could not go past 50 jumps without making a mistake now I am somewhat breezing to 100, I think I may surprise him tonight and try to go to 150 without stopping.

Still cant do anything fancy but believe me this is a lot.

I started last week & realized I'm so out of shape. I average about 50 double jumps in 5 minutes & force myself to do it for 15 minutes, three times a week. Going to work on doing it daily.

OMG, no wonder I could eat what ever I wanted when I was a kid, I only got in 64 jumps, but it sure felt like I had doen thousands and my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest, it was great!!! I will get in at least 75 jumps today.

HEllo all, I am to this team and a little intimidated by some of the numbers you guys are posting!emoticon Today will be my first day, so I will be on tomorrow to post how well I did. Wish my luck that i do not die as I am really out of shape and have not really jumped rope for many years. Hi I'm a newbie,

Do you have any suggestions? I can alternate my feet while jumping rope (kinda like running in place). I can jump rope for 5 minutes without stopping because of a mistake, but any longer than that seems to be difficult for me.

That ends up being roughly 100 jumps per minute.

One way of being able to jump 15 min a day is by breaking it up 5min 3 times a day. Another way to do it is get a mp3 player and listen to music and before you know it you have reached 15 min and didn't even realize it.

okay this is how it went....I used jumping rope in rotation with total gym and elliptical
jumping rope= 200 jumps
total gym= 5 min
ellptical = 7min, 10 min, 13 min

x 4 sets

Welcome to all that join us in jumping. Here's how it works. Start with 100 jumps then add 10 each day, or do as many jumps as possible then add 1 to 10 each day. Remember to go to SP cardio and under jump rope (fast of slow) click the amount of time spent and see how many calories you have burned and receive your points for cardio that day. I will be adding some suggetions now and then to help with this challenge, and please anyone that comes upon good advise let us all hear it so we can become awesome jumpers. By the way one goal you could set for yourself would be to beable to jump 10-15 minutes by Christmas. (or set your own smaller goal... 5 min.)
