I just bought this jump rope (it came in a pack deal I got including body and food scale)

But I'm wondering if its a bad idea to use the jump rope - I was injured in an auto accident years ago (rear ended by someone while I was stopped) and since have only done low impact exercises...

I know that jumping rope has lots of great benefits - and would love to get this one - but would this be bad for my back?

Does anyone have back issues and still jump rope?
Or is there any advice for me if I were to jump rope with my back?

I also saw the jump rope dancing dvd and requested from my local library - I'm really excited about starting, I just don't want to injure my back.

ETA: Btw, does anyone have this jump rope? What do you think of it? I just ordered it last night - cant wait to get it!

Dec 2008-Dec 2009 I faithfully maintained a 107-109... Unfortantely after Dec 2009, I let myself get back to a 115.6 - I'm back on track and am going to get back to my maintaining range again!
