I do intervals between skipping and weights.
5 min skipping warmup and then alternate between 2 sets of a strength training excercise and 2 min of skipping. My total workout usually last about 45- 55 min.

Lately, I've been ending my workouts like I begin them; cardio. In the PM, I normally do ~ 30 minutes of cardio then strength training and ~ 20 minutes more of cardio.

Hi I alternate between the firm videos for toning and extra cardio. I finally figured out that I don't have to use that lame stick. I just add extra weight and monitor my heart rate.
I have a question for Changegonnacome, I don't mean to sound stupid but...what is WATP? Oh duh... walk away the pounds.

That's a good idea. I do intervals of jumping too for my cardio but then I just march in one spot or step side to side. But that's also a good idea to do as well. I think I'll try it out tomorrow :)

But for me, I do the Jump Rope cardio video, maybe repeat it once. Then I will jog for about ten minutes since my goal is 30 minutes of cardio a day (even though it definitely exceeds my limit of calories burned through cardio, but thats good too!).
After I have completed my cardio, I thought I would try out the 7 Day boot camp videos so I'll watch the video on whatever day I am. After I have completed the daily video I do my regular workouts that I have set up on my fitness tracker. I usually just do full body workouts. I just started trhis change this week. It keeps me busy and takes about a maximum of two hours. Makes me feel great afterwards though :)

I wake up, do 10 minutes of interval jumping. During the rests of 30 seconds of jumping, I lift weights and do crunches - it keeps the heart rate elevated.

You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.

My set routine for now is as follows...

Every morning I wake up and do about 30 minutes to an hour of yoga, depending on what my daughter allows.
7 days a week I jump rope for at least an hour, and 5 days a week I do 100 crunches, 50 pushups, and 50 lunges. And lots of stretching.

That's about it. It is time consuming, but I can get most of it done during nap time...(2 hours)

XOEM

**just wanted to edit that I don't do an hour of jump roping all at once, I do about 10 minutes at a time w/ a few minutes rest.

I use the spark weight plan as well. However, I often flip through the exercises and pick the ones I like from core, upper body, and lower body. I deffinatley find them a challenge so it's enjoyable. Sometimes I do a workout video as an alternative.

I just started working out with kettle bells. I had never heard of kettle bells until I read an article on Readers Digest (February 08 Issue) with Katherine Heigl. She does it for 20 minutes a week. I want to know what weight you started out with. I got the 10 lbs. I love it! can't believe I had never heard of kettle bells.

I also do the Spark plan, and I think it's wonderful. As long as I've been here, you'd think I'd have realize just how complete Spark is, but...well, it's a recent discovery.

I've even started trying to adhere to the meal plans as they are spelled out. I used to substitute most things on the plan. Now, I'm trying to get as close as possible.

I actually use the spark weight lifting plans... I spread out my jump roping into intervals of 1-3 minutes (I'm only slowly working towards longer intervals), and in between I do one set of each of the arms, legs, or core exercises of a full workout. Usually I do two full workouts (core everyday, alternating arms and legs), which gets me to five intervals, plus one for warm up and one for cool down... the entire thing takes me about 35 minutes, and I do it while watching TV.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

I'm one of the older members, having a "life attack" for most of 2007.

Around the time of my last post, I was diagnosed with shin splints. Doc said that as we age, we start to heal slower, blah, blah, blah, blah. I've suffered from shin splints all my life.

I never had issues with gymnastics, though, so I've got a plan in mind. I'm going to tone and slim down. Thank the Lord, my university has a nice gym and I've built time into my schedule to allow me to go down there, this semester.

I'm going to start building up my old gymnastics skills that were a bit more gentle to the body, but definitely show some strength and agility. In between, I'm going to give myself plenty of healing time for the different exercises I'm doing, along with building bone and muscle with weight training.

I'm still trying to round out my workouts, but I definitely want jumping rope to be in there, somewhere.

Hope you all have a wonderful start and finish to 2008!

I jump rope for cardio. This team was listed under toning so I am wondering what you are doing for the "toning" part?
