What's your biggest diet downfall?

For me......Portion control....when you love certain foods so much it's hard to keep to the portion control.

Do you make New Year's resolutions?

For Me....The New Year means a new beginning. So I look at it as an opportunity to start over and re-evaluate what didn't work so well for me in the previous year. So I do set new goals for myself, readjust and move forwards. I do this each month during the year.

Fruitcake
Egg nog
Ham
Cranberry sauce
Candy canes
I don't dislike any holiday foods
Other (Share it in the comments!)

For me....I wouldn't say I dislike any of the above, but I would say candy canes because they are so sweet tasting.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU WHEN YOU HAVEN'T HAD A SUCCESS?

I reach out to SP friends, read a motivational story, or just think about how far I've come--then start over right that minute.

Even though my siblings and I are all adults now we still sit around on Christmas Eve and listen to my dad read The Night Before Christmas. He spices it up and makes it hilarious.

Do you have any family Christmas/Holiday traditions? Would you care to share them with us?

For Me... We gather around the Christmas Tree and open our gifts with the family members. When we are done we all go to the dining area and have a French Toast breakfast with eggs bacon and sausages. The grown ups love to have the first cheer of the day with a mild rum and eggnog. Not the healthiest of either but a tradition all the same.

There is going to be a big family Christmas gumbo dinner. I am not a gumbo fan so I will probably make a chef salad to eat and make extra for anyone who wants some. For New Years we are supposed to be doing a diaper party and having duck stuffed in chicken (it will probably be fried) and a keg of beer. Not drinking the beer personally...

Not any more. At first he had a hard time with my borderline obsession of taking on a new healthy lifestyle. I'm not sure if he was afraid of change, or that he would lose me, or if it was something entirely different, but he has become much more accepting and supportive.
I knew he would come around so I tried to give him the time he needed to adjust and continued show him how much I love him and need his support. I didn't take his negativity personal, because I know he loves me and just had to deal with his insecurities in his own time.

Good Question BTW

If you suffer from heartburn, which food/foods is the most likely to give you heartburn?

For me..... I don't get heartburn very often but some foods that might trigger it are, spicy foods, greasy foods, or foods with too much garlic in them.

Which of these events would be most likely to make you skip a gym workout?

Forgetting my music/music player going dead.
Forgetting an important piece of workout clothing (workout pants, sports bra, etc.)
Forgetting my workout shoes.
Having a head cold/feeling under the weather.
Being sore from yesterday's workout.
Bad weather.
Being injured.
Almost nothing stops me from getting to the gym-- workouts are non-negotiable for me.
Other

For me.....If I went to the gym.....forgetting an important piece of workout equipment, being very ill and if the weather didn't allow me to travel.

I like getting it done in the morning, but I usually end up not getting to it until noon or sometimes night, but I don't last as long at night so that's a last resort.

What is the best time of the day for you to do your workout exercises???

For Me...mornings. That way it is out of the way and I can get on with the rest of my day. It gets me up and active.

I like to workout alone unless I'm hiking in the woods. Then I need my husband!

I don't need easy. I just need possible!!

I would probably love having a workout buddy, but sadly I'm a loner. I like working out at home though (I like the privacy too). I use that time to either catch up on my shows or listen to music.

Do you like to workout with a Buddy or Go Solo??

For Me....I like to work out at home(more privacy) but enjoy going for walks and working out with DH when he is available to do so.

What's the best way to enhance the flavor of healthy foods?

Adding ingredients like herbs, spices, soy sauce or salt
Buying high-quality ingredients to being with (fresh, local, organic, etc.)
Using the best cooking method to lock flavor in the food (broiling, grilling, etc.)
Including some healthy fat to help carry the flavor
Other (please tell us below)

For me....it's buying fresh foods and than adding herbs and spices.

The best cure for stressing is to count your blessings...and a long walk won't hurt either!

Never give up what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT!

It's Black Friday. How do you feel about stores starting the sales on Thanksgiving? Do you brave the crowds or stay home?

For Me.....I live in Canada so Black Friday is not something we do here yet. I do think they are starting to take interest in bringing that event to Canada this year. I've got all my Christmas shopping done so I'm set to go without out all the crowds.

How do you approach weight loss during a holiday?

I generally eat what I want and get back on the wagon after the Holiday.
I try my best to stick to my diet and exercise plan
I take a 50/50 approach--I eat well some of the time, but allow myself a few splurges, too
Other

For Me....I enjoy my holiday and get back on track after all is said and done.
