I don't care for mushrooms but have some instant potatoes, never thought of that. My daughter was concerned about her lasagna because it was watery so i will suggest the instant potatoes.

That is a good idea.
I have done something similar ....in a friend's veg.lasagna recipe that her kids complained that it was very good but too soupy (probably due to the frozen spinach); We added freeze-dried mushrooms and solved her problem.

I've heard that some people use instant (freeze-dried) mashed potatoes to thicken soups/stews. I tried that with my chicken veggie soup & it made it really creamy!

Tonight we are having pulled pork BBQ. 2 lb pork loin in the crockpot now with 1/4 vinegar and about 2 cups water. Once it cooks down then will drain the water/vinegar/fat pull the pork and then add the Sonny's Sweet BBQ sauce. Serving in pita pockets with cheese and family wants chips with it. I will have some sweet corn and fruit instead.

We did Salsa Chicken on Sunday. 2 frozen chicken breasts, 1 can corn, 1 can black beans, 1 brick/container reduced fat cream cheese and 1 jar salsa let it cook until chicken is tender enough to shred--we used whole wheat wraps Sunday and yesterday we had it over wheat noodles--soo good!

Yesterday, I made the Crockpot Creamy Italian Chicken with very few changes (reduced fat ingredients & no butter) & additions (potatoes & carrots). It was really yummy & I will definitely be making it again. Thanks for posting Erin. Sometimes I forget to browse the recipes here.

Chicken! I ran home at lunchtime and put in a 4-1/2 lb. bird -- spiced it up with paprika, parsley, bouillon granules, salt/pepper, lemon and soy sauce. Then put onion wedges and a couple chopped garlic around it. Topped it with cut-up potatoes and set it on high to do its thing. It'll be nearly finished when I walk through the door (barring a power outage!). Recipe from "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker."

I haven't been using the slow cooker but made a big pot of vegetable soup for those of us with allergies. It is warm here during the day this weekend but very cool at nite so the soup is still welcome, It is the WW's Garden Vegetable recipe but i do add noodles and a little bit of chicken breast. Had cabbage and green beans from the garden to use. I sure messed up cause i bought carrots for it forgetting i have them in the garden but they will get used too. I love slow cooker recipes, i am determined to use them more this winter. My problem is planning everything ahead. Have a good day, Georgine

The sesame chicken was delicious. The recipe included sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, and honey - and I sprinkled sesame seeds on it when it was done. Since it wasn't fried (which many restaurants do), it wasn't as heavy. The flavors blended beautifully.
