So far I have lost 9 lbs, but that was just from cutting back on the amount of food I ate and eating healthier things. also cut out pop. Have really started the Med. Way.

I am sorry to hear of your health issue with diabetes 2. My sister has it and my father did so I read what I can to help me eat better. I signed up for a Diabetes magazine that is only $12 for the year. It helps me stay focused. I do have my bad days but I actually suffer from low blood sugar that can turn to diabetes. I work teaching and it is difficult to keep my sugar up.

More veggies helps me along with long grains such as brown rice. There are some steamer bags for the microwave that helps keep things simple. Even the rice! Publix has them.

The key is longer lasting foods in the stomach that keeps blood sugar level. I do read a lot about it and watch some health shows.

Please let me know how you are doing. Eating right will avoid meds.

I have been on this team for a while, but really haven't followed the "diet". Now that I was just diagnosed as being a type 2 diabetic, I have to find a better way or better things to eat. I requested a book from the library that is a Mediterranean Cookbook for Diabetics. Just wondering if anyone else on the team is diabetic and found the diet helpful?
