I'd have the soup and my favorite is chicken noodle or potato.

I love almost any kind of soup, do not want to get a bowl of soup that has been sitting for a long time or has additions of leftovers...both I've had at restaurants so usually do not order soup.
I love salads of spring greens and spinach. I do not like salads filled with the cores of iceberg or romaine lettuces...
I will usually order salad over soup for the convience of eating. (Maybe I talk too much to eat soup at a restaurant) :)

Personal goal is to weigh in 149 by the end of March 2015. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THIS GOAL IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2015 to be back to below 150 by January 2015.
Since I can't have any meat.I ask what is in both. The waiter won't know most of the time if the soup has meat broth or not, so I get the salad. If I'm some where I can trust the food i prefer the soup. What kind depends on where I am. I am more likely to be able to eat soup a an ethnic restaurant.
